Clwnbaby Posted December 16, 2014 Share Posted December 16, 2014 I dont get it. Why are the MAJORITY of survival servers PvP? That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Today when I checked the PvP servers only 4 were on endless servers the others were on survival. With the sanity drain of survival, PvP is a TERRIBLE idea and this almost discourages PvP rather than promote it. And if your response is "Well that's kinda the point," here is my rebuttal. DONT PLAY PvP THEN. Why would anyone want to PvP when your victory over everyone else is marred by the fact that you are now losing sanity for it. And on the flip side of this coin, why would you want to give griefers yet another avenue to grief you with on a survival server. The whole point of survival is to survive, as a group, TOGETHER. No where does PvP have a place in that equation. *I wish there was a way to edit the title. I meant to say "WHY ARE ALL THE SURVIVAL SERVERS PVP?" I'm struggling to find a reason for Survival PvP servers too, especially the dedicated ones. Why did Klei choose this? I'm guessing it's a test and they want feedback. My other guess is that Survival PvP is a sort of last-man-standing super-hard-mode. Maybe it's some sort of achievement to be the last one non-ghost. Maybe, how long can you live after everyone is a ghost and your sanity is always 0? I dunno. Survival PvP is basically slow suicide. rezecib Posted December 16, 2014 Share Posted December 16, 2014 I think it's just because Survival is the default setting, so yesterday and today with over 9000 new players coming in, they all just looked at the options and were like "Hmm, PvP, that might be cool, let's turn it on"-- without knowing anything about Survival, Endless, and Wilderness.
