I had the same thing happen to me during my first map, I had no idea what the mandrakes were, I pulled them at night.. I was worried they might kill me after yelling at me all night. Eventually, they hopped back into the ground, I tried pulling them again and they died. I ate all three of them in one go not realizing what they do. Anyways, they were delicious.
