(Btw, Halved, I've been following Carnatis Invitcus. That's all I have to say.)

"Do you mean why we didn't run away, how we got here in the first place, or what everyone is doing here, floating through time and space continuing with their pitiful existence until the day they become nothing but dust? If it's that last one, the answer is forty-two."

Wilson stopped what he was doing to ponder the strange sentences Athena had just said, but simply shrugged it off as a reference he didn't get.

"You had tried to warn us about the danger. I couldn't let you get digested in good conscience." Wilson replied as he threw bits of food in the crock pot.

"I just kept thinking about how disgusting it must be in there, all wet and smelly and filled with decaying meat." Athena completely disregarded all the stares she was given for her previous comments.

"I suppose there would be no use in hiding it. I'm a scientist, a man who spends most of his waking hours attempting to unravel the mysteries of the universe using hard logic. I was tinkering around with an experiment when it exploded. In my face. Again. That was the fith time that day it had failed and it wasn't even noon. I was tired and frustrated, so I sat down in a chair to take a breather when... my raido spoke."

Athena's eyes went wide, taking a strange interest in Wilson's tale.

"The dang thing wasn't even plugged in, but it still talked. The voice said it had forbidden knowledge that it could give me. To this day I don't know why I lissened to it, accepted the deal. Perhaps I was too tired, too desperate... anyway, before I knew it, my mind was being flooded with information. Numbers. Schematics. Equations. All filled my mind at once and I understood it. I'm... Actually not quite sure what happened next. It was like I was possessed. I had to build that machine as soon as possible and even with all that information I didn't know what it did. When I was done, I hesitated pulling the swich, but my curiosity gave in and I did. I blacked out and woke up here."

Athena stood there, her usual cheerfulness replaced by a mix of emotions he couldn't identify. She seemed in a daze.

"Athena?"

She suddenly snapped back to reality and looked over at the bug before gazing down at the ground.

"I... I don't want to talk about it..."

(Actually, I was thinking after this post we would wait for Percival and wxps350 to FINALLY meet each other.

Which may take days.

Yeah, not my best plan.)

"Alright then, 'Moxie', I suppose the only rule I'd have hear is tto not take anything without my asking. This goes for everyone. I want to know the location of my items in case I am in need of them."

Athena nodded understandingly. The group looked at the horizon to see the sun had almost set. As darkness quickly started to descend, Athena felt a cold chill run up her spine and she shivered. Wilson calmly lit a fire in the fire pit to shield them from the dark veil that was descending.
