Dont Starve on 3DS?

Recommended Posts

Hmmm... the problem with that is the 3ds and the Pc are two very different things.  The memory in a 3DS is 8GB (or lower) and a standard windows 7 is 320GB.  The requirement for Don't Starve http://www.dontstarvegame.com/specs .  As said here the memory in a 3DS is 8GB. The memory space for just don't starve is 500 MB HD space.  That is just for basic don't starve.  No mods, ROG, or even (in the future) DST.

Don't Starve Requirements.

OS: Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8/OSX 10.7 or better/Ubuntu 12.10
Processor: 1.7+ GHz or better
Memory: 1+ gigs of RAM GB RAM
Graphics: Radeon HD5450 or better; dedicated 256 MB or higher (GMA Cards not supported)
DirectX®: 9.0c
Hard Drive: 500 MB HD space
Sound: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card and drivers

Honestly it would not be the same.

Actually, if I recall correctly, data from downloaded games is stored on the SD card they were installed on, so that may not be a problem. However I highly doubt the 3DS has the processing power to run DS when I still get lag with 4GB RAM on High performance and nothing else opened, (I know, my computer isn't exactly the best) But still.

I feel like this could really work, actually. I don't know how likely it would be, but I do a little game design myself as an indie and I'm always fairly impressed with what a smartphone is able to render. Fortunately Don't Starve gets it's appeal from far more than flashy graphics. It's art style alone sings a deep song you rarely hear sung anymore today.

The biggest issue for me might be scale. The 3ds doesn't have a remarkable screen resolution and being that a large appeal of the graphics are their 2D sprite nature, I don't know if that would transfer over as beautifully as 3D polygons do. :l
