More Things to Do Exclusive to the Season

Recommended Posts

Not mechanics but things that are an optional goal to hit when that season comes around that wont be available to do during the other seasons, not including hunting/avoiding giants. Ex: During winter is the only time where you can take down MacTusk & Co. This means its the only time you have to harvest the Walrus Tusk to craft a Walking Cane or farm for a Tam o Shanter. Just some other optional things to do exclusively during a certain season would be a nice touch.

Maybe like during Spring a special Easter Bunny will spawn in the world and leave a set of tracks to find similar to hunting the Koalefant, and finding that bunny and killing it would offer the same things as the Bunnymen but also a chance to drop some rare item that can be used to craft something useful. Like an amulet that increases the drop rate of item. Instead of a tree dropping 3 logs and 2 pines cones it drops 6 logs and 4 pinecones, or the chance of ice/fire hounds dropping blue/red gems when killed increases.

During Summer there will be a moderately sized Lizard sleeping somewhere on the map (maybe like MacTusk's camp if you discover the area when it isnt the appropriate season a icon will still show on the map like MacTusks house but will only actually be there when the appropriate season begins) and when you find it you can choose to kill it or leave it be, killing it would drop some wonderful item that can be used to craft some scaly armor that does damage back to physical attackers as well as increasing your own physical damage. Maybe the Lizard is even nocturnal and is only active during that time so its best to avoid that exploring that area at night and strategize attacking it during day.

During Autumn maybe a huge Peacock? It wanders around during the season and killing it would leave some feathers, good for crafting a dapper piece of clothing good for increasing sanity or something.

Doesnt even have to be an exclusive creature similar to MacTusk, maybe a new area opens above ground like a bridge to some mysterious island.

Yes to everything!!!!!!!!

I am totally all about having more seasonal things!  I don't agree with all the specific suggestions given (sorry, offense I hope) but I am totally about having more seasonal things to do like hunting Mac Tusk right now.

[i don't think a special bunny many should appear, nor trees give more wood based on the season.]

I would really, really, like more optional things to do though - besides giants -.

Didnt say tress would give more logs based on the season. I said the Special Rabbit that appears during Spring would drop an amulet that either increases the chance of a rare dropping item, or doubles the amount of basic items dropped when used. That was an example of how it could work.

Well, I just think there's enough bunnies in the game, and I actually don't like the "Easter Bunny" because of, well too much deep stuff to get into here...

However, I would like more seasonal stuff to do, and I'm no opposed to more 'special creatures' like the Walrus hunting party.

I just beg, truly beg, no more bunnies please!

=-=-=-=

EDIT ADD:

Nor pigs!

I'd like to see 'new creatures'... Like the Kolifant (did I spell that correctly?  Probably not, but beside the point if I didn't)... Penguls, and such.

New creatures, new!  We don't need another bunny, or pig, or another walrus...

Still, more to do seasonally is good!

I love it. Even suggested a few of the same things in another thread. Still think my idea of a mother lion teaching her cubs to hunt rabbits in savanna biomes as a summer answer to the walrus hunting party would be the coolest thing ever.

Yes, a Pride of Lions would be an awesome Summer Event equivalent to the Walrus camp!!
