What if in Together...

This is my list of suggestions/tweaks in don't starve Together

   

-General

  • Players should have the option to grief other players
  • Hosts of each game can choose basic items for entering characters. (Host can have anyone joining have an axe/pickaxe, a torch/campfire, and food or traps. 

-Game modes

 

  • Gathering: Players have to gather a group of items spawned around the world
  • Survival of the Fittest: 2 teams where players must either outlive or kill the other players
  • Arena: A game mode very similar to hunger games where players spawn around in one place and must scavenge the landscape for weapons,tools,supplies, and food to be the last one standing
  • Dungeon Crawlers: Players spawn with fighting gear and have to go through a dungeon made to be explored however the players wish and is full of traps,mobs,and weapons. at the end, all players will fight a boss.
  • Sandbox: Just general surviving together

- Social

  • Text's should be like words whenever a player examines something where it appears above their heads and can only be read by players with them.
  • When a player dies, nobody will know until they see their dead body and things around it
  • Players can carry fallen players. Useful for moving a sleeping/dead player to a safer place (Example: Wolfgang went searching for Wilson, as he hadn't come back from gathering food. he finds him and see's he's dead and there are 3 hounds surrounding him. He can't use shock pads, so he picks him up, gets slowed(Like using a piggyback)then when he gets at a safe distance, he uses the shockpads and they return to retrieve wilsons stuff)
  • Players can knock each other out with sleep darts/other sleep inducing items and time does not get effected on the whole world.(If a player falls asleep using a sleep roll, another player can pick them up and put them in a cage). Players can also steal items from sleeping players.
  • Players can hide in bushes, but the bush will occasionally russle, and when players examine it, The bush's name will be "Russling bush" and can be shaken. 
  • Players can pickpocket other players with items, or holding alt and clicking a player while your hands are empty. doing so will get you a random item in their pocket. if the player moves, the pick-pocketing process will be interrupted.

-Items

  • Shock Pads: X4 wool made at a Science Machine that have toughness like most tools. can be used to revive fallen players.
  • Eye For: 1 purple gem, 3 orange gems, and x4 gold. allows you to toggle it and see what another player is seeing as long as they're holding another Eye For. 
  • Simple Cage: x12 Wooden Logs and x7 Cut Grass to make a cage that serves as a jail to another player. the player is not protected from grue, and they can eventually break out of the cage if they shake the cage enough. Another player can break the cage easily with weapons.
  • Tough Cage: x15 rocks and x5 Rope. works as a simple cage but is stronger.
  • Spiked Cage: x3 hound teeth and x5 gold. Not only the toughest cage, but also deals damage whenever the player shakes it.
  • Dizzy Club: x4 Wooden logs and x3 rocks. a club that deals little to no damage, but can stun a player for 6 seconds and are a good moment to pickpocket your enemy. However, they are very weak and each hit takes 20% of its durability
  • "Fishing" Hook: Like a normal fishing hook but with x2 honey. can be used to steal from other players by clicking them with it in your hand. it takes 2-20 seconds to steal like with a normal fishing pole, but the player being pickpocketed can see the wire as it is pulled towards you and can follow you. 
  • Blink Rock: x2 purple gems and 3 rocks made at the Shadow Manipulator. can be used to blink to the nearest player at the cost of 30 sanity.

-Players

  • If two ore more characters are the same character, the other players will receive re-coloring. (Example: A second wilson will have a green vest and orange hair, another Wx-78 will be made of silver)

-Mechanics

  • Trust: Depending on the things you give to players and how much you fight with them, you can gain bonus's when with them. (Example: You give another player 4 pieces of cooked meat, and when you fight with him, you will gain bonus damage)

 

 

Just a couple of things I thought about when I learned don't starve was getting multiplayer. :p

These ideas seem awesome.  I would love to see a survival of the fittest mode.  I do think re coloring will be a little hard for players to tell who is which, They still might confuse red wilson with green (I would :( ) I think they might have gamer name tags.  I am interested in pickpocketing.  Would they do a animation for it, or just standing.  I think the animation might give them away.

No PVP unless set to it.... It will actually ruin the gameplay. Imagine; Someone plays as Maxwell, already has a shadow puppet + a Dark Sword and Armor.... You won't be able to play the game with people. It would be cool to have Player Vs Player as a setting in "Don't Starve Together" world settings. Haha. I imagine a 15 Wilson's with spears all chasing someone. :snarlingspider:

Well I don't know about Pick-pocketing... Maybe only tools will be used to steal items... I think the Dizzy club would work better if when you just hit a player they drop an item, much like getting hit by a frog. Stupid frogs...

In case you didn't realize that was an example.. People aren't kind on the internet and it wouldn't be an exception for Dont Starve.. It wouldn't be "Don't Starve TOGETHER" it'd be more like "Don't Starve & Try To Survive The Players Trying To Kill You" ..

Why would you need a "Trust" mechanic? You really aren't able to tell by yourself when you should or shouldn't trust someone?

I don't like most of your ideas, but the trust mechanic shouldn't be a thing (why would you have bonus damage if you are kind to someone?)
