He should trash that secondary outpost and then go away after a day or two. He should trash that secondary outpost and then go away after a day or two. That's right. In fact, you should always run away from your main base whenever you hear any giant coming. Since even if you kill them (or ignore them) they will wreck your base. Fire hounds too. Whenever I hear any giant, I usually run to my Rock Lobsters, who have infested the world to such a degree that even the Dragonfly cannot stand against them.
