Is it possible to DebugSpawn set pieces?

Recommended Posts

They could have found them naturally

Fuuuu! I want to set my map to Huge and have all set pieces possible around the map in certain locations. Walrus Villiage in grass area, Tree guard set piece deep in the woods, metal potato farm set piece in savana (to make a farmer base), Maxwell's graveyard in graveyard area, Spider den set piece in woods, box thing set piece in grass area biome (so I can make a blackmith), crank thing set piece in savana (because it has savana biome around it as set piece), red mushroom circle in grass area, green mushroom set piece in woods and blue mushroom circle in swamp, bee keeper set piece in bee fiels (grass area), all three base set pieces in caves and ruins camp trap set piece, chest ice box and thermal measurer to appear in green fields, savanna circle turf to appear in grass area, both red and blue hounds guarding fire and ice staff set pieces (blue ound in woods and red hound in savanna), rot trap set piece in savanna, miner set piece in rocky and/or graveyard and/or woods, wood wall with chest with fire staff and pig head trap in savanna, both pig villages appear one in decidous forest (with pig king) and the other in woods, reed farm trap with tentacles in swamp, feather hat set piece in desert, walking cane set piece in desert, dark sword set piece in woods, sleep dart set piece in woods, fire dsrt set piece in savanna, blow dart set piece in grass area and/or desert, spider warrior trap in between woods and grass field, tallfort in graveyard area, M for maxwell (DLC set piece) in between grass and wood area, Maxwell's swamp(I want it for my sandbox world) in swamp, killer bee hayfield in grass area and savana area, crock pot camp (I want it for my sandbox world) in woods near swamp, Maxwell's door in the woods, wooden thing in desert area, ring thing in grass area, a lot of Touchstones (say 7 or so), pig warrior set pieces near the pig villages, etc.

If game gave me all this I'd be happy for days on.

Then how did Devs know that they work if they couldn't spawn them?

They just made them in code, I don't think they ever tested it, they just fired scripts that for example, spawns three spiders, then assign it to spider set piece, or the one that instantly changes to winter and assign it to fridge trap, some of them are not even working properly.

The setpieces and various room types are all designated in code. Simply change the spawn frequency and designate the setpieces you want to see, and that's all there is to it.

Although, it seems like it would be possible to make a mod that let's you do something similar to that. Probably a lot of work, though.

This is totally possible, by the way, but you have to force the world generation settings to make this.

My recommendation is to first create rooms with the static layouts that you want, and then create tasks with those rooms you made, and then create a worldgen setting to assign setpieces to the tasks.

It'd be fairly simple to do, but really tedious.

It's been a while since I posted that thing. But thanks for the info. I thought of adding this into my mod project as an option "All". It would be tedious.

One question: If instead of gold, you mined up multiple gold ores (you would still get some rocks and flint), then had to turn those ores into rocks and gold, and then use those materials to craft stuff, would that seem quite tedious? I mean, we already have logs turned into boards, rocks into cutstone, grass into rope and reeds into papyrus...

I'm assuming that we're talking about something other than adding every setpiece to the game, in which case, let me preface with this: game design isn't my strongest point.

but if you're talking about adding fractions of gold nuggets, I'd advise against it.

However a new item, say a gold bar or something, that you can craft with multiple gold and then use for entirely new recipes, and swap out gold bars for nuggets on the alchemy machine, I think that would work.
