Are Birchguards OP but amazingly helpful?

I just got RoG today. I'm playing as Wendy, I was cutting down birchnut trees to summon the Birchguard, I succeded, and summoned Abbigail in the process. She made quick work of the minions of the Birchguard, and I got a whole lot of food, in the form of roasted birchnut. Does the Birchguard need to be nerfed?

Perhaps having a limit to the number of birchnutters spawned but I think that the danger/reward balance right now its pretty good since the roasted birchnuts aren't that great.

They're a middle. You can farm the birchnutters for mainly birchnuts for the Dragonfly and getting living logs and some nightmare fuel easily, though I do have them set to "default" I chop down 1-2 birchnuts and then 5 spawn. So we can see it needs some balancing.

Plus, All you really did was cut down the Poison Birchnut birchguards from what it sounds like and Abigail killed all the minions.

It can be pretty hellish if you get jumped by 3-4 of the things at the same time with no followers.

Seems like wendy might be really good against them.

Atleast when i fought them it was day 1 and i had no armor and only a axe to kill them all with.

It did not go well.

OP, the devs posted something lately about an upcoming patch that will delay birchguard spawn time. Other than that, pretty balanced.

I had more than 18 in an area cause of bearger and the setting were default needs a number cap

I had a clockwork rook setpiece in a birch biome, it just insta-killed basically the whole forest
