A small area with a chest, an icebox and a thermometer ? I think if you open either the chest or the icebox (don't remember which one), winter will start immediately. Edit: I do believe there are some winter related items in the chest, though, to help you survive. Or maybe not drain sanity unless you attack her, if that's possible. I have mixed feelings about the spider queen sanity issue. However, I think there needs to be a downside to surrounding your base with 25 spider dens (besides the obvious fire that you might have to deal with during summer/fire hounds/dragonfly, but that is true for everything). I am afraid that it would be too easy to just have them everywhere and hope that spider queens spawn and defend you if something showed up and aggroed them (with no downside whatsoever). You could even invest silk to upgrade the dens and increase the number of spider queens that live with you for a while. Right now, you need to think about where you want the spider dens to be, because you don't want to go insane (and that happens fast with a boss monster when you have 100 sanity) if spider queens spawn to close to you. That is a sort of win/lose situation. I guess the insanity aura ''could'' be reduced a bit for Webber, but I hope it is never removed. Tumalu Posted April 6, 2014 Share Posted April 6, 2014 I can understand why you wouldn't want queens to drain sanity, but it'd also be kind of ridiculous if you could just have spider queens hanging around everywhere with no downside to yourself, either... it puts a soft limit on Webber's spider friendliness ability. Usually the male spider, as soon as he has "finished", will try to get away as fast as possible. My guess however is that after winter, it should be spring.
