Now, I would like to bring up something that--to me-- is a serious issue with the game. This issue being the spiders. Now, I'm not asking you to get rid of the spiders. And yes, I do know about the ability to edit the world so that no spiders spawn, and that is precisely my problem. Once I remove spiders, I can't get spider silk or spider guts (Or what ever they're called.) Now, I am a serious arachnophobic, meaning I have a fear of spiders, and I know that fear is common to many others than just I. Now, without the spider silk, many cool things like tents and boomerangs suddenly become inaccessible. Alright, now I'll get to my point. If it isn't a huge amount of trouble, I would like to request that you include into the game a way to acquire silk without the need of frightening encounters with the blasted arachnids, or an external mod. I apologize if I came off as demanding or whiny, it's just a suggestion, and you don't have to pay it any mind if you don't wish to. I thank you for your time and consideration. NikMik Posted March 30, 2014 Share Posted March 30, 2014 Must be serious if you can't play with the fuzzy balls with legs that are called spiders. While I don't see a way to have Spider Glands without spiders, Silk Worms that can be found wriggling around some trees or bushes would be a nice alternative. Could be less common than spiders or give a small piece of silk that you have to combine into a full silk to even it out. Parrotoss Posted April 1, 2014 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Um...I'm fairly sure you could use the console command if you are on a computer to spawn silk and spider guts.I recommend you look at this as an opportunity,however--to get over your rational, yet irrational fear of spiders.Lure spiders out, kill one, give yourself a treat--say a piece of a cookie each time you do. Repeat process until spiders are dead and you are paid in full with cookies. ARamblingSpider Posted April 3, 2014 Share Posted April 3, 2014 Ok, ok. Here I go.. I'm going to try to be as calm as possible despite arachnophobia being the single stupidest and idiotic fear ever. I don't see how DS spiders could scare you really. I'll get spiders like the ones from skyrim could freak you out but how on earth could this give you a panic attack? The problem is with so many games with spiders in them It won't help you to just "censor" every spider out of them. That's not how you deal with fear, just hiding from it won't help you. I do however like Tiddles idea of silkworms though, it's a neat idea. I'm sorry for sounding insensitive but I adore spiders and love everything about them. Arachnophobes just rub me the wrong way for lots of reasons.
