Rabbit earmuffs now drop sanity?

Recommended Posts

As topic says, when i wear earmuffs my sanity lowers by a lot...is that a bug? currently we cannot hunt koalefant so i can only keep warm with earmuffs and stone, because i dont have any beefalo either...so winter is almost impossible right now, especially with snow making us wet and dropping sanity even more.

It might be suffering like the garland, where the small sanity boost is overlapped by being wet or something. If you have Willow or Maxwell you can survive winter with the rain coat and beefalo hat.

Edit: I think and want to think its a bug.

I found out they are wet....and i cannot do ANYTHING at all to unwet items.
I stay near a max fire for days and eveyrhing stays wet.

On a sidenote, is the heat stone broken? it's almost impossible to make it go hotter than standard temperature or wathever it is, and as soon as i leave the campfire the stone becomes cold immediately...is that because it is wet? and if so, they seriously need to nerf the wetness.

Also, my backback is wet, my spear and tools are wet, everything is wet...the only way i can gain sanity is by keeping an umbrella close to firecamp with no weapons, backpack etc on me.

Even Willow's lighter gets wet and that will overpower the sanity boost to, instead, drain sanity.  The beefalo hat is insolation, so I think that's why it is still beneficial. I've usually worked winter with a pigskin umbrella and hat of some kind either top hat or beefalo.

As Shoggoth mentioned, put items in a chest, and they'll be dry real fast.  Yes, it's totally counter-intuitive that putting wet stuff in a confined space with no air circulation makes them dry, while laying them out next to a roaring fire does absolutely nothing.  But that's where thing are at the moment.  Probably will get changed next update (along with the heat stone).

Backpacks are a problem because you cannot put them inside the chest.  Basically, you'll just have to do without the backpack till it dries.

If the snow/rain stops, then hold an umbrella by a fire and your wet meter will drop fast.

Also as mentioned certain hats are waterproof and won't get wet, including the beefalo hat, but NOT the winter hat.  Combine one of those with an umrella, and you should do ok.  Though obviously beefalo is preferred since it also has warmth.

The thing is, i am not wet and it didnt snow in 2 days, but the backpack and all other things stays wet, i've spent almost all winter by the campfire...extremely boring :p
