Adding some sort of hardcore mode in a future dlc?

Recommended Posts

I doubt you guys would add it for the upcoming shadow chester update, so maybe after it? c:

Getting hit by something causes bleeding (which would slowly damage you over time until you use bandage the wound with a bandaid, or other wound binding material)

Add a thirst bar (perhaps also require some sort of water cleaning/filtration item to maximize the effectiveness of water)

Have running around/working drain your hunger much faster

Some sort of movement penalty when carrying lots of items

Getting sick when eating uncooked meat

Have to sleep regularly otherwise your ability to do things will deteriorate until death

No ressurections at meat effigys/touch stones/amulets

Basically I want some dlc mode that makes the game way harder, for people like me that find this game a bit to easy

I agree with everything but the last part. Resurrections are already limited and leave you with less than full stats.

I think increasing the health lost by building a Meat Effigy from 20 to 50 could be nice, it would certainly ramp up the penalty people feel when playing as Maxwell. Can you expand on what you mean by getting sick? It's a concept I've seen pop up a lot, but people rarely describe what getting sick would mean from a gameplay standpoint.

My version of it would be that you do much less damage, you walk slower, you take extra damage, and you get cold 3x as fast in winter, and you have to wear warm clothes, even in spring.

It would take 3-7 in-game days to get better

But walking slower isn't fun! The other stuff is challenging but fun, whereas reduced movement speed is just ugh.

My dad always tells me "If it was easy it wouldn't be fun!"

And I say: "It's not fun when it has pointless, frustrating features and is overly hard."

So basically, my dad is right, but if the game is making you bored/frustrated, then it's too hard.

I'd go a step further and say there's hard, and then there's just cumbersome.
