Strange things are afoot...

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I recently started a Wickerbottom world, and found two sinkholes. I went to one, and it was a brand new cave. When I went in the other, i saw it had already been explored, even though i had not set foot in it. After wandering I found, much to my surprise, a cave that I had died in many previous worlds before! I found a firestaff, and many other things I had lost in that previous world. Now I'm wondering, is this a glitch, or is something really happening here?

This sounds like it's a game generation bug for the client and it potentially can affect us all. I'll start a new world and see if caves do this to me as well.....there have been a lot of "revisions" since the Hotfix...one of them is the constant buzzing when you carry bees on you sometimes.

I wonder what else will pop up in the next few days?

But one thing for certain, we need to fix a lot of things or list them in the game revision update notes....

This means the cave save file wasn't deleted. It's a bug, but not one worth reporting, since the actual bug happened back then, when the file should've been deleted but wasn't. If you get a reused cave originally created in a world started in the last update, then yes, please report it.

Well, I might not get quite what you mean, but if I am correct, you're saying if this cave was from a world in the last update, it would be one worth reporting, correct? If so, it might be worth reporting, as this cave was from stuff of nightmares. (Sorry, in advance, if I am wrong.)

I'm saying that if you get it with a cave generated in All Well That's Maxwell, then do report it. The way savefiles are handled had some tweaks (and I don't think such a thing could happen anymore).

Yea that was me that same worlds was happening to :/. Since i didnt really get much help on the matter all i can say if it keeps happining die in a different area then previous world. Say you die on land, start a new world and its the same, die in caves. So since i assume you died in cavestry dying on land or in ruins to stop the process of repetition. Worked for me
