Shadowfall

[Battal]

"Then die."

 

Shadowfall smashes the now-brittle form of the Behemoth with his tail, shattering it into a thousand shards of crimson.  Waves of fire burn them into dust, which scatters into the wind.  He then lifts his torso into the air, preparing to slam a thousand tons of pure force onto the group.

 

"STAY AWAY FROM MY FRIENDS!"

 

A blazing red creature that appears to be a mixture of a phoenix and a dragonfly slams into the side of Shadowfall's head, throwing him off-balance and sending him crashing to the ground.  It goes straight for his eyes, tearing one out completely.

[Will]

(da fuq)

[Percival]

(Go, Jakob!)

 

Celina cowered slightly, her hands over her head.

 

"'Bout time."

[Blewcheese]

(VALOR, GO FOR THE EYES)

 

Pops simply watches the scene, too weak to attack Shadowfall again. Joseph still lay down, traumatized.

[Battal]

Shadowfall roars in agony, tearing the angry Phoenodrake off his head and throwing it at the group.  It smashes into the ground in front of them, sending bits of rock and dust into their eyes.

 

The creature climbs to its feet, staring down at them.  "Come on, people.  I can't kill this bastard by myself."

[Percival]

"I would, if I had a certain miniature chainsaw."

[Blewcheese]

Pops looks over at Celina. "Oh... Right. Here you go." He handed the osteotome to Celina. "Just... Give me a moment to catch my bearings, okay?"

[Battal]

"Better catch them quick."  Battal says, turning towards Shadowfall.  "And be careful.  I don't exactly have full control over this thing."

[Blewcheese]

(Sorta waiting on Pecival and Will)

[Will]

Will helps Dark Will and Violet up to their feet.

"How come you get to have a super form and we do-"

"Shut it."

[Battal]

Shadowfall rises to his feet, chuckling.  "Now, that makes things more interesting."

[Percival]

"Thank you." Celina says, grabbing the osteotome from Pops. "Now, where did Everett go?"

 

She stares around, tapping her foot impatiently. Nothing happened, then her own shadow deformed, and a small pillar of shadow rose out of the darkness, growing into the shape of the shadow creature from before.

 

"....thank you, Everett. Now, can't you do a sort of intangible thing?"

 

The creature nodded, and touched the top of Celina's head. She didn't seem any different, but from the way she shivered, it was quite cold, being intangible.

[Battal]

Shadowfall doesn't waste any time blasting nightmarish fire in waves down onto the group, but these are blocked by Jakob, who blows it away with his wings.  The phoenodrake goes in for meelee, and begins slicing at the demon's hide.

[Blewcheese]

Pops, after a few long moments of deep breathing, rises to his feet slowly. He stretches out his tattered arms, sending thin spears of blood at Shadowfall, not too different from the shadowy spears used earlier.

[Battal]

The spears and Jakob's claws leave deep slices in Shadowfall's skin, but these fade in mere seconds.

[Will]

Dark Will picks up Will, and tosses him toward Shadowfall. Will grips his sword tightly, and begins slashing at Shadowfall. After a time of them exchanging blows, Will slams his feet against Shadowfall, and propels himself away.

"Violet! Now!"

Violet points her blade at Shadowfall, and multiple bolts of lightning converge on Shadowfall.

[Battal]

Shadowfall roars in agony as the blast of electricity hits him, leaving half his face charred.  Other than that, he seems barely injured by it, and the skin begins to grow after a few seconds. 

 

"Just keep trying."  He laughs, slamming a massive clawed hand down on Violet and Will.  "You might just end up leaving a scratch."

[Will]

"Damn it! None of our attacks are working, but he's so massive, if he hits us once, we'll be smashed! Don't let him hit you! Be mobile!"

"Yeah, I noticed that. Thanks."

[Battal]

"What an astute observation, Willy!"  Shadowfall says, tearing a massive chunk off the cliff and bringing down on the group.  The tremors from the shock knock them to the ground

[Will]

"Oh, come on! I can stand being called Will when it's not even my name, but Willy is going too far!"

[Battal]

"And what are you gonna do?"  Shadowfall asks.  "Poke me?"

 

He blasts fire, but Jakob punches him in the face and the inferno misses Will.

[Blewcheese]

Pops had moved towards Joseph, shaking his apprentice and calming him until he rose. Joseph then continued to fling boulders at Shadowfall, but this time Pops coated the boulders with spears of blood before they made impact with their enemy.

[Battal]

The spiked boulders dig deep into Shadowfall's flesh, but they soon break into pieces and the holes heal.  Shadowfall swipes Jakob out of the sky, sending him smashing into Pops and blowing him out of his Phonodrake form.

[Blewcheese]

Pops and his wounded body couldn't help but let out a shout as Jakob smashed into him, which then prompted Joseph to go over there to help the two. "Are you okay?"

[Battal]

Jakob struggles to his feet, clutching his bruised ribs.  "Nothing we do hurts it!  But there has got to be a way to kill it, there's no way it can truly be immortal.  But how do we - "

 

He pauses, slowly formulating a plan.
