(Better start remembering.)

Pop's brother grabs the cane mid-swing, ripping it out of Joseph's hands and striking down the young mentlemancer.

"What's wrong?"  The man asks, his eyes wild with excitement.  "Aren't ya happy to see me?"

The Spire begins pulsating with dark energy, and Shadowfall isn't any closer to his demise.  Jakob, on the other hand, is taking a serious beating.  "JOSEPH!  COME ON!"  He yells.

Dark Will shoots at Pop's brother as fast as possible, but his revolvers don't seem to be doing anything. Sighing in defeat, he begins to assist Joseph by shooting all shades that attempt to reach him. Will rams into Pop's brother, but he is just repelled.

"What is this guy's deal!? We can't hit him!"

Violet, with Jakob, fights off as many shades as she can.

"F**k! How do we hurt him!?"

(Small warning: In my next roleplay(s) Ayasha will likely be modified a bit, but it will be mostly additions. I won't do it in this one since we're close to the end)

"I don't even know who that is!" Ayasha says while attempting to hurt the shades with claws.

((It was Agustus. I think. Or maybe that was Pops's real name. I'm just going with Agustus.))

Pops groaned as he skidded across the ground, barely concious. "Brother..."

Joseph, who was fairly truamatized, redirected his attention to Jakob. Looking at the others, he took a deep breath before sending them a telepathic message. I'm going to help Jakob. See if you can keep the big guy off me... At that, Joseph began firing boulders at the weakened shields with a new determination.

Agustus walks up to Pops, resting the tip of his sword-hand on Pop's throat.  "Goodbye, brother."

One of the shields cracks, but the others are still strong as ever.  "Good job!"  Jakob yells.  "Aim for that one now - "  A nova of black energy explodes out from Shadowfall, knocking back Jakob and making Agustus stumble.  "I will not be undone!"  Shadowfall laughs.  Spears of black shadow start bursting out of the ground, aiming to stab anyone nearby.  Still more tendrils and shades appear, and the group starts getting overwhelmed.

(You play to much Outlast.)

Will rushes forward while Agustus is struggling to balance, and round house kicks him in the face.

"Pops, we don't have time for sibling rivalry! We need to break the obelisks before we are overrun!"

Meanwhile, Dark Will is offering ranged support for Violet. He notices a shade sneaking up behind him, and flips backwards behind the shade. He draws his dagger, and plunges it into the shade's back.

"Don't waste your time trying to sneak up on me!"

Violet rushes forward to Jakob.

"What can I do to help? These shades just keep coming back!"

"Anyone up for intangibility?"

Celina tears her eyes away from the creatures, to look at the group. With a smirk, she raised her hands and placed the palms together, and she fell into the shadows once more. This time, however, the creature from before stayed on the surface, its eyes becoming more realistic and tangible.

Outstretching its arms, its palms filled with a curling shadows, the ribbons of writhing twilight thrown into a greater relief now that Celina's mind was broken.

Pops nodded. "Joseph... Give me a hand, would you...?"

Joseph turned towards his mentor and ran to him, evading shadowy spears along the way. He carefully picked Pops up on his back, huffing slightly under the weight. He was able to fire boulders less frequently now, as he was constantly trying to keep Pops and himself away from the ends of the shadow spears.

(K.)

While Celina waited underground in a pocket world for the perfect opportunity, the shadow creature jumped up into the air, and it shredded apart into ribbons of darkness, the streaks of twilight rushing straight towards the center, only to be flushed out and bounce out of the whirlwind of darkness. The cords of shadows didn't reform, though, but began curling around the spears, coating the blades in a viscous, dark, and soft material. The purpose of the material is not evident, though.

Each boulder strikes the vortex full-on, blasting it away into dust and dropping Shadowfall to the ground.  Rising to his feet, the demon lord laughs.  "In the air, on the ground; it doesn't matter.  You will die."

Shadow spears drive themselves through every member of the group, pinning them to the ground.  Jakob's sword is knocked from his hands, skittering a few feet away.  Shadowfall walks towards him, spinning his blade like a baton.  "You don't have a little soul trap to flee to this time."  He says upon reaching Jakob.  "Just empty nothing to look forward to."

He prepares to drive his sword through Jakob's heart.

No.  Not this time.

Jakob makes one final grab for the sword, the spear tearing raggedly through his flesh and bone.  Screaming in agony, he grabs the broadsword and swings it at Shadowall, slicing a long gash through his breatplate.  The force of the blow sends Shadowfall flying backwards, smashing into the Spire and falling to the ground.

Shadowfall lets out a groaning laugh, rising to his feet.  "Your toothpicks and bloodstains cannot hurt me, fools.  I am the Executioner of Gods!  My very essence brings death to men."

A ray of dark red light explodes skyward from the Beacon.

"And now, it is the end for you.  Behold!"

With his gauntlet, Shadowfall cuts three ragged slices into the Spire.  Energy rushes into his body, lifting him into the air.  Shadow tendrils begin to pour out from under his hood, from his gloves, his boots, wrapping around his body.  Massive limbs form, enormous wings blot out the sky, glowing eyes pierce the veil of darkness like knives.

"Behold!"  Shadowfall says again.  "The Effigy...of Shadows!"

(Welp, we're screwed.

Also that depiction of Jakob is so very elegantly beautiful. It brought a tear to my eye.)

Joseph's eyes widen upon the sight of the large beast, and he begins to quiver with fear.

Pops frowns, sending blasts of numbing blood at the Effigy of Shadows.

(Shaddup.  It's for size reference.)

Pop's blasts of blood do absolutely nothing to Shadowfall.  They simply loose momentum upon getting near him, and splatter down on the floor.  The shade leaps onto one of the small mountains rising out of the darkness, and takes a deep breath in.  His throat begins to glow with dark energy.

"Get down!"  Jakob yells, running for a small trench in the cliff.

"I WANT TO PET IT, THOUGH!" Celina yells madly, now out of the ground.

The curled ribbons of shadow coalesce around Celina, and lift her up, the shadows reforming into her shadow friend. Once again, wings of shadow burst from its back, and the creature grabs Celina around the waist, lifting her up again, beginning to flee quickly from the creature before them.
