The time for Badges will come later.As a programmer myself I can tell you it's pretty simple to slap some pictures on users profile pages, especially if you have admin powers. And the system already exists considering there are DS beta tester badges and whatnot. There are other things to worry about rather than blaming the admins for inventing this.
