GrapeVruit Posted June 12 Share Posted June 12 I think it's really cool how Eets is able to be adopted in DST, but there are certain things about his implementation that make him feel really lifeless compared to the other critters. Despite Eets being a really expressive character in his own games, in DST he constantly has a neutral expression on his face at all times, save for the animations where he jumps, and makes next to no noise, which is nice when you're trying to get work done, but serves to make him feel like a lifeless husk. He also seems to have the least amount of animations compared to the other critters, having 2 unique idle animations, an eating animation, and an idle bob that breaks after a few loops. No snuggling animations, animations when the player is in combat, nothing! But the most disappointing thing about the new pet, the thing I'm shocked isn't a feature for a critter, is the fact that Eets can't be petted! Like, c'mon man! He's such a cute lil' goober with wide eyes and a friend-shaped body. Why can't you pet him?! It almost feels like Eets implementation was rushed, which is something I don't feel great saying considering all the high quality animations and art found within the game. -Variant Posted June 12 Share Posted June 12 Gah, I'm gonna sob. Justice for Eets! There's SO much potential! He's literally -THE- Klei food character! His name is Eets! Its about time he made it to DS someway, but he needs more love! He can't even sleep or be pet, the poor thing. He absolutely needs polish, he feels so beyond unfinished, it breaks my heart. He's super fun and expressive in his own games, he even has potential for his traits, with how he changes emotions depending on what he's eating! I'd love for him to be more lively and emotive.
