Webber is significantly weaker than wurt. Webber has a very slight advantage on day 1, but is blown to the point of obscurity in a matter of days.

I feel like you're severely undermining the potentcy of the little spider boy.

He has a hard limit. Sure, infinite healing is pretty nice. But spiders get DPS capped by them shoving against each other, and they all instantly die if a nurse spider is a little off sync, or gets bursted. The only spider which avoids this a little are spitters, which are harder to get than merms and you need to regather them if they die. (This is a good thing btw I like it)

Wurt has no limit, and each merm is significantly stronger and doesn’t even need healing with all the insane perks and kiting.

I always felt like Wurt and Webbers biggest difference that made playing as them unique was Webber had to traverse all over the constant to go to the locations of certain spider types and recruit them from their spawning habitats (at least that is how I Personally play as Webber..) meanwhile, Wurt doesn’t need to really go ANYWHERE and can just build up her Merm Kingdom as soon as she locates the nearest Swamp. (I have not really played as her in awhile so I have no idea if that’s still the case or not..) I also don’t understand why these two characters get so closely compared to one another…

Webber gets his spiders for free by just walking up to and waving at them “oh hi fellow fuzzy spooder do you want to just join me in taking over the world with a spider army?” Hsss Hss *complies after giving them lunch*

Meanwhile Wurt has to build up buildings that spawn her fellow comrades, buildings that… Deerclops will target every winter and attempt to smash.

Meanwhile: Webbers living happily unbothered in his Spooder Dens.

Wurts followers will abandon her if not enticed with more food stuffs, and run away likely getting stuck walking endlessly on the edge of a terrain with the braincells of dory the fish.

Meanwhile: Webbers Spiders are a one time hire permanent followers. They can also be picked up and stashed in your inventory (so you can run away from danger without them dying in the process)

Wurts Merms on the otherhand signed up for a to the death contract (or whatever with silly not so dead skill tree..)

My point is simple: I do not understand how or even why these two characters EVER get so closely compared to one another, they don’t even play remotely alike outside of the fact they both can have followers.

And as for as which character needs a skill tree the most NEXT goes, it sure as heck isn’t Webber his gameplay is pretty decent right now as is, Warly on the otherhand… is more boring to play as then even WES (because at least Wes has cool balloon-o-mancy) Warly is just all round Meh..

Meanwhile: Webbers living up getting free “Tents” out of randomly spawned tier 3 spider nests in the world.

This has never actually been accurate Wurt since her release has required her to explore for her king which took her across the mainland and the ocean. This was expanded via her skill tree to include the ruins and a boss fight for advancing her merms.

While deerclops isn't a threat to Wurt it should be noted deerclops will destroy dens.

That bug for merms has been fixed years ago and with alignment skills merms are also permanent though putting them into your inventory is nice. Also kind of a interesting aside but if merms witness Wurt being hit they will join a fight to protect her regardless of if they were recruited or not. Not a huge thing but I just think it's kinda sweet that despite her feeling like an outcast she's still clearly loved even without bribes.

Unfortunately spiders don't really offer unique advantages to merms aside from the whole being able to carry them and the whistle and while being able to carry them between shards is neat Wurt more or less solves they issue with her kelp dish which can be setup at cave entrances and exits to mass recruit merms between shards if you truly want a seamless experience with a merm horde. Personally I think this could be solved by giving the individual spider types more of their own identities and specialties beyond the few that already stand out.

As Wurt in practice most her problems dont matter.

Merms are extremely cheap to recruit. One kelp befriends 6 guard merms.

Houses are not as expensive as it seems. Webber is only better day 1-20 before Wurt can get merm king and merm guards.

Wurt can get infinite food with kelp, which is better than having to spider war them.

Wurt can also start merm wars. Merm guards spawn in half a day. They are extremely farmable for food, providing surf and turf, meatballs, cordon Blue and all sorts of crazy stuff for other survivors, with Wurt herself benifiting from trading fish. Theres much more Wurt can do but I’m a broken record disk Ive talked about how Wurt is the strongest character way too much- even arguing for it for fun before her many buffs and skilltree.

I’ve seen people say she is just an easy mode. I don’t think Webber wnd Wurt should be compared, because I really hope they don’t try to make Webber worth using over Wurt without changing Wurt, or we will just have two Kirb stomping low sustaining follower characters with easy methods to farm food for themselves.

I think i've notice the skilltrees have 1 non-human character, 1 DLC character and 1 OG character.

We have Wx-78 which fills the non-human character so my guess is Warly and Wicker, but then again we did had that year of the clockwork knight which has robots and 'luck' so swap Wicker with Wes.
