aidancode
I'll start: I wonder how the game's early game will be similar and different to DST. I feel like RoG perfected the early game of Don't Starve pretty well, but I know other people feel like the early game is too slow. I wonder what kinds of goals (exploratory, bosses, base setup, etc) players will have in their first 15 or so days. Maybe this game will have more avenues for exploration. In DST, we have land exploration, which is pretty good, cave exploration, which is okay, and ocean exploration, which sucks in the early game. Maybe in DSE, we'll have 3 or more well developed exploratory paths, or maybe they'll take more time to place early game bosses around the world. Either way, making the world more alive an diverse would be great. 3 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171361-lets-talk-about-literally-anything-that-isnt-characters/ Share on other sites
Harrowick
I look forward to seeing if we'll have reasons to make seasonal clothing outside of seasons! I wonder if they were alluding to that with this bit of the description here! I think it would be awesome to see seasonal clothes be more useful, especially since it looks like we'll have an extra slot for backpacks! 2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171361-lets-talk-about-literally-anything-that-isnt-characters/#findComment-1865778 Share on other sites
Mike23Ua
I actually expect DSE to be an all around faster paced game then DST, Faster meaning: almost all actions of DST (walking, how fast you can get into water & explore ocean, resource investment, resource costs etc..) all will be significantly lessened or speed up. You can even watch the reveal trailer to see evidence of this in certain areas, such as swimming, (no longer do you need a very expensive late game tool to fetch items annoyingly just off shore) Im willing to bet all the time it takes to build a mast anchor, steering wheel, etc will be cut down to how it was in DS Shipwrecked so boating isn’t an extremely expensive resource drain. I can’t tell right away from the one trailer we have if combat will be more advanced, faster paced and improved, but at least the navigational stuff appears to be faster paced. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171361-lets-talk-about-literally-anything-that-isnt-characters/#findComment-1865785 Share on other sites
gaymime
i was also thinking about the weather but in a more moment-to-moment way; i wanna know if the fog is static and biome-dependant like in solo and together or if it is more dynamic and can come n' go like rain or snow(would there even be snow? i imagine it is reasonable to expect it but unless they freeze up the shallow/fresh water it wouldn’t make a lot of sense visually) 2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171361-lets-talk-about-literally-anything-that-isnt-characters/#findComment-1865807 Share on other sites
