00petar00 Posted April 30 Share Posted April 30 DST has a lot of players and I don't think they are going away or that most of them will quit and move to the next game unless it is exceptional which I quite doubt that they can match current DST with all the updates it got over the years.As long as DST can keep high player count there will be updates. DS didn't have 50k concurrent players regularly that keep on buying skins and giving tons of profit to Klei. DST is fine. Start worrying about DST's future when the playerbase actually starts going down. The people in charge of a company would need to be really stupid to give up on a live-service game that regularly has a buttload of players and is incredibly profitable... Like I said in another post which continues to be ignored, DST is old, it’s over 10 years old at this point, it’s running on Xbox One & PS4 Hardware, unless Klei is planning to re-release the game on a new generation of console platforms, then when Sony and Microsoft pull the plug on PS4 and Xbox One support DST will go with it. Unless either the game becomes backwards compatible on the PS5/6 Xbox Series/Helix.. or Klei re-releases the game. As of right now we do not even know what console platforms Klei is planning to launch DSE on, but it existing at all should be a tell all sign that development on DST will start winding down as we prepare the final few updates.
