Powder Monkey Extinction

Hello everyone i think i made monkeys extinct in my server. Which means no pirates

 

First i ripped open a hole underneath the weird portal on the monkey island so the ones who spawn fall into the water (and die?)

 

Then i burned all their huts so they dont spawn from those (if they ever did)

 

Then i killed all the monkeys roaming the island. All i have left on the island is the monkey queen and pearl the crab lady. Havent seen pirates in ages

the pirates event doesn't rely on these things, its merely a coincidence

The Powder Monkeys that raid you aren't actually tied to the island at all, last I checked. I'm pretty sure they're still supposed to be appearing?

Either way you can easily bring them back by refilling the hole. Not certain that should be happening.
Try summoning them with the hostile flair.

I wanted to kill pirates for their treasure and they will not spawn. Havent tried flares

Im also not complaining i play willow i can easily kill them all quickly just wanted to share my observation you can easily recreate what i did and see for yourself

Another thing i noticed is i used to steal their boats from the island and eventually they would steal it back from you

 

I stole one of their boats and its still where i left it. Maybe tied to them being extinct

They drive the same boats that are on the island

If you want, you can craft docks and seal the hole under the portal to make it spawn monekys again.

I might be mistaken, but the monkey raids only happen in the area near Monkey Island, not all over the map. Have you tried using the flares near the island?

I havent tried flares yet but ive paddled out to the monkey island multiple times i would have been hit by now

 

Ill try to summon with flares and see what happens alot of people have brought up flares already ill report back soon

Flares work i was able to summon pirates. Seems to be the only way. Which is great no more surprises

Eh, it depends how many times is multiple times. Are you talking never once in several hundreds of days/dozens of boat rides? And are you sailing in a straight line between coasts? In my experience, Pirate raids don't have a mechanism where one is guaranteed after X amount of time and you really can go for long stretches without encountering one if you only do short-ish boat trips.

really funny when ur base near the monkey island water or somewhat facing it .. i literally want to harvest my boat leavy meat farm and they spawn on me right a second i jump to the boat
