Yeah I wondered what that was about. I'll have to check what those duplicants are wearing now in my save.

Unfortunately, no (the oldest save goes back to cycle 893 where Shine Bugs are already in the kitchen, albeit in a fewer numbers). They still seem to be appearing in increasingly baffling numbers (cycle 902) and for no good reason, so here are the available autosave files, just in case they are still relevant:

Regrettably I didn't notice when or how the situation started and unfolded, though from what I can tell this behavior is not intended (considering it started shortly after the recent big update). Thank you for your attention!

you drop all excess eggs from the shine bug stable into the kitchen for the last 300 cycles (Assuming the stable's critter changed. Since drop offs and critter condos are 375 cycles old) or 600 cycles if the critter in the stable didn't change. How did you have no shine bugs in the kitchen before?

I am pretty how I described it above is correct, although now I am starting to have doubts. In 300 cycles I should definitely have noticed that something was amiss in that location. Plus, all of a sudden after the patch was released they seem to be proliferating in that area, and more and more on top of it all. Thanks for your input. I will look into it further. If anything will feel wonky I file a bug report.
