Forgot about the pen of grass gekkos counts as "plant creatures", now there is no pen, gekkos, twigs, grass, bananas, etc.

(yeah yeah flingo I know, but still this shouldn't be an issue to begin with.)

would it be that bad to change gleam shocks to the same electric variant as the tingle nodes? still doing 10 damage but not lighting stuff on fire?

Be careful not to get this thread locked due to [COMMUNITY GUIDELINES VIOLATIONS], no matter how many [COMMUNITY GUIDELINES VIOLATIONS] you think you're being subjected to.

What’s really wrong is that it doesn’t even function as a downside to always full moon, because Moonstorms don’t occur in the Oasis Desert, Moon Island, or Cave. It just restricts the player experience.

The flingo would stop the fire spreading to the rest of the base, but your gekkos would still be half dead. Even the best case scenario with moon gleams is just minimizing the amount of damage! :(

Considering that panicked mobs will run around and avoid snowballs, and that once a Moongleam locks on to a target, it will continue to chase to kill it for 6 minutes, the chances of a low-HP plant mob surviving is close to zero even a one Moongleam.

Gecko have 150 HP, Friendly Fruit Fly have100 HP. Bulbous Lightbug and Carrat have only 25 HP...which is fatally low, as they will die if they take more than the damage from a Moongleam + once dot of damage from ignition.

Another issue we discovered during testing: Flingo ignore Treeguard. The issue with this is that, even if you cover the all over the world with Flingo, Treeguard will move around and inflict fire damage on nearby mobs, potentially killing mobs like Killer Bee Hive. If there are any other exceptions to Flingo, they will be unable to escape ignition which will increase the damage.

since the issue with hail damage creature i moved the geckos on the docks under giant trees .. maybe thats why my base is safe

Wishful thinking.

Nothing protects from moongleam ignition. It just hasn't happened to you yet.

i know but gleams chase and get closer to player i always can trigger the quest far from my geckos so everything fine. everything combust because gecko get on fire and running around that my best guess seeing the stuff burn is far from the two gleams that appeared near the player in screenshoot too..

from it i also can see author trigger quest in middle of their base and try to finish it .. when u can really run from wagstaff and he disappear . because no player on screen nothing will trigger anything .. even fire will be put out if one leave the screen far enough

also placing them in docks means there will be no storm in docks if u stand in it and somehow u got storm move to base it wont really spawn gleams inside ur pen...

By @Lovens, It has been observed MoonStorms also occur over the Docks. And Above-Average Tree Trunks should provide no protection against Moongleam fires.

However, this has not been verified yet. There is possibly a mechanism that prevents spawning Moongleams on Docks. Do you have detail in game?

This mechanic really discourages having certain plant creatures around anything flamable. Or even any non-sprayed plants in the base.

Well... I guess I'll have to wax everything and flingo the geckos and food plants, otherwise this is literally just summer 2.0 revenge of the moon.

i was placing them in docks under the tree when the hail was drop and hurting mobs when its not affect them i keep placing them in same situation cus dev said they will revert it until they change how hail protection works. so i didnt place them there in first place for protection against moongleam.

u know what i think storm didnt spawn on my dock because mine didnt connect land to land.
its stand on its own and on the area where its facing bigger ocean. idk if docks covering lots of water and connect land to land make them behave that way.. but i never found any storm extended to my docks area even when i made bridge connects of two land...

this is why you turn geckos off in world settings (also build flingos)

Don't use grass farms either because brightshades.

Really if you're not just living in the dragonfly desert and getting resources from tumbleweeds, you're not playing the game as Klei intended.
