The new Mega blight Ripple, feels somewhat underbaked. I say this because after a few encounters the entire biome has been made into effectively a waste land. All the fumaroles are gone, which I can only guess they were crushed under the large bug, and he destoryes the loot of bolder-trees along with their seeds.

First fight much of there server was there, we had to replant the trees as they were dug up pre-rift, only 2 fumaroles remained by the end of the fight, and a lot of waiting for her to walk into the elevated boulders. By the second fight all fumaroles were gone, so no more getting bigger off miasma, and many of the trees had disappeared too, so inbetween waiting for the boss to make their way to become vulnerable (the AI also loves just walking into the edge for extended periods of time) I got to appricate just how much more desolate interacting with the boss once left the biome. Third time was same as second, just kind of waiting about for the boss to stop walking into invisible walls and go run under hanging rocks to do anything.

I bring this up because normally I'd just trust in Klei to fix this by next update, but their plans are to revist this content in 2026, and if this is what the new biome is gonna be for the next 1/3 of a year it's gonna feel pretty bad. I feel like the bandaid solution would just be to make it so fumaroles aren't entierly decimated by Ripple, maybe acting more like the luna island spring pools where the basic structure remains, but it returns after being given some time (maybe 4-6 ruins cycles or something), and for the boulder trees, perhaps a chance that upon cut/mining them naturally, they have like a 25-10% chance to drop an additional seed, incase they want to keep the punishment for trying to kill Ripple at the only point it's vulnerable.

Anyway that's just my two cents, I thought this boss would be and interesting dreadstone alternate, but it seems to be something thats a greater hassle than it's worth until the new "hard" weapon is introduced.

I definitely agree on the point. The fumarole biome and the ripple are obviously undercooked. Ripple has too little HP, too hard to be stunned, and the fumaroles need to regrow in the biome. But well... Time will tell.

Imo the whole update feels under baked, but I get the feeling this is more of a minor update with some neat additions while Klei works on a bigger update behind the scenes. I hopped on my world for only about 10 minutes to check out the new update, only to realize half of the update is pretty much just reading all the ancient statues with the masks equipped. The other half is a biome that, while cool, doesn't actually offer me anything new for my 3k+ day world.

I'm sure Ripple is great for dreadstone farming (I didn't actually see it since despite shadow rifts being open, he just decided not to spawn in?), and the stone trees being an alternative way to farm resources sound useful in the early game, but when I have thousands of rocks and flint, and hundreds of every gem type wasting away in chests, it just doesn't really appeal.

it's not a boss.

Haven't you noticed the complaints of boss fatigue around here? People are tired of bosses, so klei made this mob not a boss.

It's just a small puzzle on legs.

Not a boss, he's just a cool lad that acts as a way for players to actually obtain dreadstone without making 4,000 green amulets and staves.

Ok, so aside from the technicality of if this is or isn't a boss, there's still the problem of it being a half implimented mob that decimates the biome it resides in.

And honestly, I disagree with Ripple being a "puzzle", you just wait for the mob to walk into the trees then hit it. If it doesn't walk into a tree you can't hit it and die for standing close. Farm crop roations and the ocean fishing system are greater puzzles than this.

I agree with most of your points. Fumarole does indeed need some regeneration methods because I like its art design and don't want it to be completely destroyed just because of the irregular movement of MegaBlight. I've seen a proposal to respawn it in ShadowRift Phase 3, which might be a good way to do it.

这不是一个老板。

你有没有注意到这里关于老板疲劳的抱怨?人们厌倦了老板,所以Klei让这个敌人不是老板。

那只是一个有腿的小拼图。

BOSS is just a general term. It doesn't matter whether it is a BOSS or a mob. As long as it can be clearly referred to as Mega Blight, the function of transmitting information has already been accomplished.

Bellium just misused one word. It's no big deal. Why are you so mean to specifically pick out Bellium's minor mistakes and vent other dissatisfaction on the forum at Bellium? Leave the computer, go to the park for a walk.

Nobody's being mean? I don't know if auto-translation messed with the tone, but that message didn't seem mean at all.

Yeah the way you kill it is stupid. It’s annoying slow unfun and sometimes it just doesn’t feel like walking into trees, why is this the only way? Let explosives work.

Klei could change fumaroles so they leave some burning hot hole (like in sw) which repairs itself after some time. It could spit out heat and gases then erupt and molten rock could form a new vent on top of that hole. Currently this biome is worth visiting only once or twice and this just sucks if compared to ruins or some other often visited biomes
