I know that Don't Starve isn't supposed to be realistic and takes liberties compared to the real world, but... lobsters don't have bones in real life?! (if that's what they're based on) I really like these representations of the ancients, but this detail bugs me.

Holy moly, what did you smoke. This post is full of misinformations and confusion. "GDW is not a boss" mega lol. Fortunately bumber already explained it well.

That doesn't make sense. Glow berries drop from depth worms, so what? Boulderbough roots kill the worms since they have their berries on them?
Lesser glow berries would be a better fit here instead of glow berries.

Lmao. At this point these new trees will be better resource management than all others, GDW included.

The Ancients are based on insects. Moreover, if you look closely, you'll see that these corpses aren't bones, but empty, dried-out exoskeletons.

In terms of the shape of their arms, it looks like they have humerus and radius bones, and they seem to have joints at their fingers. The color also makes me think of bones, but on closer inspection, it could also be molting. I would have said that their exoskeleton was the golden/thulecite part, in which case the masks would either be accessories or literally their faces. But the design seems pretty open to interpretation. I love it, we'll be able to come up with lots of theories once the update is out.

Btw, very surprised on the change of bridges on Labyrinth. What gives? Why this change of heart all of a sudden?

While I am not too keen on the changes, I feel like Klei saw the item not really being used and decided to give it the one use people really wanted it to.

Pretty sure hair doesn't normally have bones either.

I'm curious if they have datas on this. I used a lot three bridges on my solo cave world, but only because I forced myself to live on caves. But even on a normal run you do one or two bridges. I did with other people. The problem relies on the Caves and Ruins itself. One being in beta, and the other in early access. They don't have the quantity and quality of the first level, therefore you don't have biomes to stay in too much time or others interesting interactive gameplay.

Plus this is a bad move from Klei because A) Archives and Atrium still can't be placed, therefore creating weird bad rules in the game B) It's a bad sign from Klei on not revisiting the labyrinth and make it far far more cooler and good. Because this, THIS is the problem. Not bridges. And I'm disappointed that many people are celebrating, only seeing in the short term, not on the long way. This is a bad taste band-aid fix.  (+respect that you're not too keen on the change)

Actually at the age of 38 I fully believe that everything in life the good, the bad, the unthinkable.. all of it is connected and nothing happens without a reason. The information I post here may be inaccurate, but I spend the time out of my day to post it anyway knowing that most of the time (not always but most) someone somewhere will pop in and correct me, that’s how video game forums work. If I don’t know the answer myself, I can usually get the attention of the people that do.

And actually Currently I’m confused about the Betas Boulderboughs i can’t play in betas so obviously I have no idea how they actually work and can only form my opinions based on beta patch notes But: If these are intended to be an After opening rifts resource, why does the GDW now have a chance to drop seeds for them before the player has opened the rift?

They still work before the rifts.

They get an increased gem chance in a single, specific biome if planted post-rift. Not sure what the revised loot tables are yet, but it was a very significant increase before.

But only in one biome! You could plant early ones in the ruins, for example. Pre rift or post rift, their loot doesn't change there.

I know that this is a bit of a slowpoke moment for me given I just got back but I'm sorta realizing the boulderbroughs are answering a lot of the questions I brought up in my slabs post in the past. Here's hoping we can get them nice and fine tuned.

Lesser glow berries would be a better fit here instead of glow berries.

It weird that perishables are loot at all. Light bulbs don't grow under the soil. If this stuff is just buried, it should've turned to rot long ago.

The lichen could make sense, in that lichen grows on rocks and won't rot until it's picked.

From what I have tested, growing time is now 2-3 days, not 4-5 days.
By the way, since the growing time is longer now, can we get a middle stage of boulderboughs growth?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it doesn't seem to be working.
(I skipped days both in the cave and on the surface)

The new patch also added Ancients corpses to the mask room.

They look great, of course, but there is a one small problem.

All three corpses do not have any legs at all, as the Ancients were depicted with.

Unless those are legs, but I don't think so.

I think they are crawling out of It's exoskeleton, maybe legs are part the shell idk
