At the moment the legs awkwardly fade out into nothingness the moment the scion dies. It might make more sense to instead make them destructible after the fight, letting the player hammer (or perhaps mine?) them for a bit of scrap. The fight has a pretty high scrap cost, especially if the player chooses to repair some drones instead of hammering them, as hammering gives 2-3 scrap per drone and repairing doesn't, so getting some scrap from the legs could help with the cost a bit.

The legs should drop unique loot that is used to craft a new warbot. That way, you still have to remove them from the arena before starting a new fight.

In that case they could just drop the WARBOT parts directly instead of them being craftable, since you need 3 parts and there are 3 legs.

Or they could just stop protecting you from super nova and start looking broken, like how drones start sparking and can't turn on after warbot dies.

Or keeping them could just be allowed because a lot of other bosses also make refighting easier compared to the initial fight (FW giving you thurible for cage, bone helm for hands, void robe for sanity aura and scythe for dps, CC giving you brightshade sword and the crown, toad giving you nap sacks for bypassing it's sleep resist etc.)

Then someone could run off with that. Would be better just to have them destroyed or flung into the ocean if you start the fight.

Honestly I also wish the rest of the body stayed behind somehow. It always bugged me that the entire rest of the shell just vanishes.

They did change it sometime in beta to drop 1-2 scrap with chances for an electrical doodad and gears, although that does seem like a bit too little stuff for something that big.

Simple: Astrogoggles can reveal the locations of the parts on the map.

Would be no different than using a thulecite medallion to find the gateway key if someone ran off with that.
