In boss fights you have a second mouth to feed, and the armour will break if it takes too much damage. Its best as an infinite armour for every day activity and is limited in other scenarios. Also dreadstone helmet kinda outclasses it which is ssd. 2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167072-dst-armour-teirlist/#findComment-1827471 Share on other sites

Gashzer
Battle rond is S tier. Being handslot armour and able to block for 2.5secs without losing durability is gamechanging. Completely tanking phase 2 CC spin attack is enough to prove its the best defensive item in the game. Its relatively cheap to craft, as a handslot armour it allows wigfrid players to double stack seasonal insulation without sacrificing protection which is insanely useful, beefalo hat + buffy vest makes winter into autumn 2.0. Grass suit is B tier atleast due to its ease of crafting as you will always be carrying grass and twigs with you until the endgame. Log suit and beekeeper hat are C tier as both are a bit expensive (log suit has double the rope cost of football helmet, beekeeper hat requiring 8 silk is mad) Bramble husk is easy S tier. Swap to wormwood spam these out for your team and swap back and congratulations you have completely replaced Wendy's usefulness with one piece of AOE damage armour. Snurtle armour is A+ as once you know how to farm it, its quite easy to stockpile it. 100% damage resist is awesome and makes it worth farming. Cookie cutter helm is F tier. Hard hat is A tier just for it being a cheap helm for followers. Sacco
slurtle hat is so low just because it’s hard to farm, right? because, taken the stats, is a very powerful armor. The same goes for snurtle helmet. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167072-dst-armour-teirlist/#findComment-1827506 Share on other sites

Slurtles take too much time and resources to kill for a mere 10% drop. kroban
Imo Void Cowl is inferior to Brightshade Helm. With Helm you are getting solid extra damage no matter what, Void Cowl on the other hand does more damage on paper... only if you are landing consecutive hits while also not getting hit. If you receive damage, take off the cowl, or spend 3 seconds not attacking, it resets back to 0. Most bosses require kiting and all that, so for the average player keeping that buff maxxed the entire bossfight is pretty much imposible. The only case where I would say its "superior" is for Shadow Walter (since it buffs the DoT and Dreadstone rounds), or Gloomerang (if you can keep the max range for a long time) Edited July 19, 2025 by kroban Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167072-dst-armour-teirlist/#findComment-1827599 Share on other sites

I've used it before in my Wilson world and thought it worked fine enough against non-planar monsters. The WARBIS helm to me has a ton of if/and's to it: -The damage ramp up is very slow for day to day combat. In order to get 20% extra damage, you need to wait 20 seconds for the full effect, alongside taking 10 seconds to go upwards from 5% to 10% (which are both fairly insignificant damage amounts already...). In most cases, that is far longer than the average day to day combat against one target. -The helm conficts with the rift set bonuses; if you want to use the WARBIS helm, you need to forfeit the bonuses of the brightshade helm/void cowl. The cowl in particular is quite bad since the reaper heavily relies on the scaling damage. -The armor suffers hard in most boss encounters. Bosses that summon adds are out of the window due to the sheer number of adds that break the bonus, and mobs that move away from you break the targeting and force it to resync. Heck, Celestial champion's phase 3 attack where it summons mass gestalts with a ring to walk out of is further than the maximum distance the helmet allows, so you are forced to break the bonus. All of these for a helmet that isn't really that great for the bonus of 20% damage after 20+ seconds. It's very niche, and just doesn't work well with the current build of rift helms only providing the bonus. It would probably be better if the chest pieces contributed to the bonus, but not by a lot. By comparison, the reason I like the WARBIS armor is apart from working with the rift helms, the speed bonus it offers is applicable to a lot of scenarios. Even 10% (which is where it starts at) is a genuinely appreciable bit of speed from an armor piece. Compound this with the rift weapons and it's a genuinely good contender as an armor piece, apart from bone armor and the void cowl (the Brightshade armor is just kinda There, but its something I suppose) Personally what I would want is for the WARBIS helm to buff specifically non planar weapons considerably (I was thinking it could be neat if it added some planar damage + reduced the durability drain of pre rift weapons?), and wearing both pieces to both speed up the augmenting and increase the range in which the bonus breaks. Would also personally love if the targeting was more based on the mob species instead of a single target (so if you fought a hound wave, you could fight the normal/red/blue hounds and varglets and not have the bonus break on you when swapping between any of the hounds) I think this would make it fit better as a situational set with a good bit of upside to pre rift weapons, which I know a lot of people would want. 4 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167072-dst-armour-teirlist/#findComment-1827630 Share on other sites
Ridley
I also think the graphics of the WARBIS helms effect are distracting and in the way. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167072-dst-armour-teirlist/#findComment-1827651 Share on other sites

WARBIS helm seems good but the point of when you get it, it's useless unless you don't turn rifts on, then it's ok, but besides the annoyance of brightshades there's no reason not to turn them on Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167072-dst-armour-teirlist/#findComment-1827658 Share on other sites

Craft wabis armor require you to get enlighten shard anyway, aka you have to kill CC anyway.
