Changes

  • If target lock fails during W.A.R.B.O.T.’s missile phase, it will skip ahead to its next attack phase.  (Missiles that failed to lock onto a target will just detonate at random points on the ground.)
  • Updated the flame effects on the upgraded Enlightened Crown so that the shards are still partially visible.
  • Added “companion” tag to friendly Terramites so that your default action on them is not Attack.
  • Helpers like Woby will no longer try to pick up friendly Terramites.
  • Added new strings and sounds for Wandering Trader.

Bug Fixes

  • Adjusted Brightshade Paladin Helm skin art to fit its lunar effect on the back of the helm.
  • Fixed Bush Hat Cawnival Shrub skin not having a ground shadow when used.
  • Fixed dug Berry Bush turning invisible when changing it to its base skin.
  • Fixed dug Cawnival Shrub skin missing its ground shadow art.
  • Fixed Berry Bush losing its skin when dug or turned into a Scared Stiff plant.
    • We’re aware it’s not possible to change their skin once they’re a Scared Stiff plant and we’re working on a fix for it.
  • Fixed skinned Terramites sometimes showing the default inventory icon.
  • Fixed bug where Terramites did not reactivate if repaired from your inventory.
  • Fixed bug with Terramite’s deploy point on boats not updating correctly.
  • Terramites will now stay deactivated while floating in the ocean.
  • Fixed crash sometimes when hostile Terramites finish self repairing after W.A.R.B.O.T. was already defeated and removed.
  • Fixed crash sometimes when there are still active Thermalock Missiles after W.A.R.B.O.T. is fully disengaged.
  • Fixed bug where Thermalock Missiles were hitting your mount instead of you even though they should be considered projectiles.
  • Fixed bug with W.A.R.B.O.T. sometimes getting stuck trying to reset.
  • Fixed bug with Houndius Shootius and Winona’s Catapult locking onto non-targetable entities.
  • Fixed bug with Inimical Gestalts not despawning when a Player dies.
  • Fixed bug with Greater Gestalt’s Scrapbook image.
    • Scrapbook entries for the newer content coming soon.

Thank you very much for listening to my suggestions. (Although I have a better idea now, haha😉)

By the way, it would be better to incorporate the full moon night effect into the filter of the upgraded Enlightened Crown so that it looks more comfortable.😊

I think some of the things like drowning or the Inimical Gestalt we would like to revisit in a little more depth when we have time, so that will probably be done in the beta branch.

Thanks for the heads up! I hope adjustments to them (alongside hopefully the crown’s enlightenment filter) can be considered, it would mean a lot!

There are still no changes to the Inimical Gestalt. Now I have to disable all gestalts to avoid fighting it. The livestream mentioned it could be used to obtain Pure Brilliance. Good lord, just look at the creature we use to farm Pure Horror—the Fused Shadeling: 1250 HP, 40+10 attack, drops 2-4 Pure Horror, and only spawns around rifts. Meanwhile, the Inimical Gestalt has 2000 HP, 165+15 attack, drops only 1-2 Pure Brilliance, and spawns near players. It feels more like a punishment, warning players not to defeat the Scion.

Is the crafting recipe for gyroscopic conduction cores also under consideration?

Before the next beta branch, could you first prevent Inimical Gestalt from being selected and attacked by the left mouse button? After all, it is sometimes very close to the players.

@V2C I'm sorry for the ping but is

there any hope of the Pearl controversy being addressed by developers at all, since there are still tweaks being made with the beta? The majority of people voting on the poll about the new update named Pearl's eviction the worst part of the update (75% of the players voted against the eviction vs 25% saying they like it), yet there's still not a single explanation or commentary regarding it from Klei. If you don't plan to make any adjustments to it, it would at least be helpful to know it. I appreciate your work on polishing the newly added content, but it's so heartbreaking to see so much time and effort poured into tweaking the new boss fight and fixing related bugs without addressing the elephant in the room.

Currently, it’s still possible to exit via chairs, allowing ranged attacks to hit the boss from outside.
Is it feasible to add a destruction property to the boss, so structures are destroyed upon contact?

Players can exploit ranged attacks from outside the combat area, while those inside only need to kite the boss. Some can even break combat intentionally, letting outside players attack freely.

Could the following be considered?

  1. Make the boss disappear/reset when breaking combat.

  2. Prevent attacks from outside the combat area from reaching the boss.

Dude, only Walter can do this (houndius can't even reach the center of the arena even on boat). If you wanna nerf this boss then nerf Walter first (but then ofc other Walter players be yapping so why do I even care about this)

Winona, Walter, Willow, or even Waxwell with the "waxwelljournal" you can trap the boss at the edge of the arena and just keep attacking. It’s a bit ridiculous to enforce strict arena boundaries when players can attack the boss from outside the combat zone or even leave the arena during the fight.

Why do you automatically assume 'only Walter can do this'? Clearly you haven't tested or thought this through. The boss lacks structure-destroying mechanics—you can literally trap it by spamming furniture (tables, statues, etc.) to block its path back to center. Or are you only aware of Walter's slingshot and ignorant of Gloomerang and Howlitzer?

This will probably further discourage players from engaging in the new boss fight, if the reward does not outweigh the risk.

You're absolutely right. When players perceive that the resources consumed to defeat the boss exceed the value of its loot, they will lose motivation to participate.

see no problem with this

Walter escaped the combat area via a chair at the edge of the battlefield. After sitting on it, he jumped down outside the combat zone. I believe this is a bug, as the design intent was to prevent players from leaving the combat area. The boss was successfully defeated because the wardrobe pinned it from returning to its starting point, while the eyeturret kept attacking it continuously.

Using exploits to state your points make it useless in the first place.

So you're saying Walter attacking the boss from outside the arena isn't an exploit, but using tables to block the boss while attacking with other ranged weapons is? Or do you consider bosses without path-breaking mechanics to be bugs? By that logic, half the bosses need 'fixing' (Deerclops, Moose/Goose, Rhino, etc.).Your arguments are self-contradictory.
