Landmark? Island is still here, just without pearl. And im pretty sure you can just relocate her back when you decide that you're done with this bosses fights

Let's be real the only reason you're against it because boss destroys anything you built on this island, which returns us to the first point

I already mentioned that building on her island is irrelevant. In a lot of worlds I didn't build a single thing on her island and I still would be against destroying her island and its original shape. And no the island is no longer the same after it's turned into the war zone with all the scrap docks and boss destruction.

If we could bring Pearl back and have her island fully intact and back to its original teardop/crescent shape after the boss fight I'd be fine with this change. But as of now the new boss destroys driftwood trees and moon glass boulders, and the scrap docks stay forever and cannot be removed after the fight. Not to mention, if you want to repeatedly fight the new boss (is it even possible?) then you have no option to have both Pearl island's intact and the new boss arena.

Also for a reference, I spent a lot of time building on Lunar island (and especially around CC arena) and I'd be fine if the new boss fight happened there even if that meant my beautiful build would be destroyed. Because this is a place that already has a boss fight happening there, and because I can, just like people said, build it again somewhere else (or rebuild if it gets destroyed).

Question is why can't it happen on pearl's island.

Why does it have to happen on an island that's already occupied by something else? I'd argue about this just as hard if this was happening to Moon Quay and I don't build there or visit it often either. It's not hard for devs to use another empty island or add a new empty island for a new boss like they did with Frostjaw. What's the problem with it, why are Klei trying to fit the new boss fight on the smallest and prettiest island we have? It doesn't even have enough space and has to be expanded which is a lot of work. We could just have the fight on Lunar where it would be just as fitting (even better since it's more moon themed) and there's plenty of space already, and that's where gestalts are that are required for activating the fight, and that's where we already kill CC.

When Nightmare Werepig was first added to the game, it was spawning in savanna by the starting portal and it looked completely out of place there. Players complained about it and he was moved down to the caves, and he looks very fitting there in the muddy biome. The new boss we just got looks out of place on Pearl's island and I think it should find a new, more suitable location, the one that doesn't already have a thing happening in there.

Probably not because really really old worlds have no small islands surrounding the lunar island. Potentially locking those worlds out of the boss fight. Needs to be a brand new island.

They had no Pearl Island either...

Just retrofit the Moon Island archipelago.

The second phase of the WARBOT boss was good, but I have some thoughts.

I do not understand the attack where the boss turns into an atom structure and then puts a lock on attack on you , which could very well be my fault but if it’s a range thing then could there something like the blue flames in CC phase 3 to indicate that? That would be great

The drop is really good in my opinion, and I love the upgraded crown (as a concept I haven’t gotten to use it much yet) but I do wish for more uses of the Jewels. Some ideas I’ve had are an upgraded WARBIS armor that has more of a Planar focus, and a craft(s) with a spark arc to give more functionality (as for what that craft would be, I don’t know). I know the Celestial Shard didn’t get most of its uses until from beyond so I understand if y’all have more plans for it later, but something else now would be great.

(also I do want the upgraded crown to be skined, but I assume that that is in the works.)

Final thought, I think it would make more sense for Pearl to offer the relocation kit from the beginning of Wagstaff being there (maybe she could have dialogue about how he won’t leave despite her attempts, and that she only trusts you to find a place for her to stay). The moonque island home kinda weird, I don’t think they want her there. I do LOVE the fact that you can move her know though, it will be nice to have a neighbor in my world!

Overall, great beta so far! Excited for what changes y’all make next

There's some REALLY BIG MAJOR story spoilers left over in the files.

I'll leave a spoiler, it's some frames of a lengthy anim. There's also drops to go with it, seemingly.

Aha! And a possible follow up.
Again, might be related, so spoiled here as well.

Spoiler

There seems to be a player-used version of the Wagstaff minigame static? You can interact with it, and give it the tools. Seems unfinished/unused, for now?

Thermal Stones will now take durability damage when being targeted by Thermalock Missiles.

In my opinion, a very bad change. The amount of rock needed to build docks and thermal stones was already large, and now even more is needed. This series of quests is already girndy, there is no point in making it even worse

Even if it was not possible to build on Pearl's island at all (except for the plot required saw horse and chairs) I would still argue that it's bad to entirely ruin an existing cohesive unique part of the game just so a new boss can happen there. It's a landmark of the world regardless of whether or not players build there.

Well, you could argue that it's still a landmark, because you don't pave over it JUST to have a new boss fight. It maintains significance because it's where the lunar questline finally ends, and (spoiler)

where Wagstaff meets his fate at the hands of the Celestial Scion.

This can happen in a different place giving us a new landmark instead of destroying the already existing one.

Can you please change Wagstaff from stealing Pearl’s island, we did all her quests helping her out and making it look nicer and now she looses it.

A suggestion would be to make another island in the ocean for Wagstaff to spawn on and use to fight the new boss.

Come on, guys, take the "Hermit Rehomer" and bring the pearls back to her island, what's your problem?:D

By the way I hopped into beta and tested this item. It's not the same, it doesn't relocate her structures 1:1 to how they were placed relative to each other on her island. It places them up very close to each other and you relocate everything at once: home, drying racks and beebox. But if you wanted to restore the original island as it was after the boss fight (let's imagine you could remove the scrap docks)...well, you couldn't even place her home back to where it was, the game won't let you. Her home needs to be placed super close to water now. Here's the showcase:

Original Pearl's island with the grid on to mark where her home originally is. Drying racks are north of her home on this screenshot and are 3 tiles away. Bee box is 6 tiles away. House is nicely placed in the middle of the thickest part of the island, leaving nice space around it, making it balanced and visually pleasing.

Here's the suggested rehomer placement when attempting to place the house in the same spot. Drying racks are now surrounding the home and bee box is super close to the home as well. The placement circles above won't let you place it in its old spot even though there technically is water nearby.

Here's a valid placement screenshot with the footprint of the structures where the game allows them to be placed: image.png.9092d3238eaf49ddd2dc22f3b0b7a805.png

No matter what you do, you can't achieve the same structure alignment to restore the original island.

So kindly go eat a raw Durian and down it with a Monster meat smoothie.

ooo seriously tho, a monster meat smoothie / monster shake sounds kinda great ..
1 monster food + 2 fruit + 1 filler, maybe? so durian is perfect ingredient, but monster meat can work if you have other fruit to use
Monster Smoothie could have stats like an inverted Banana Shake? +25 hunger, -8 health, -33 sanity, so would be a great recipe for Lunacy areas

Would Webber be able to lose sanity? The combination could be sufficiently gross.

If Pearl's willing to move anywhere, why did she need to be tricked with a fake map?

yeah i think that's fair! Monster pals losing Sanity but not losing Health for a Monster Smoothie makes sense to me
edit to add: i'm mostly thinking of it from a Woby & Walter perspective, how useful more monster food recipes could be

Being able to restore her island feels like the missing piece to me for a lot of this, and really, I'm super interested in just moving her home before doing all the upgrades and improvements, but idk if that'd fit the storyline well enough to become an option

Anyone else dreaming of upgraded Thermal Stones, a way to have Thermals without durability once again? Bc I do, all the dang time, maybe magic, or marble

Pearl doesn't even dislike the Moon Quay, she's just annoyed that Wagstaff's junk is still there. She's unbothered by the monkeys as her neighbors and (as we've learned from the Hermit re-homer) is probably overjoyed at all the docks leading to deeper water for her to throw her bottles at and fish off of. There's no "evicting" happening here and any sort of arguing that this is wrong or bad from a lore perspective is very silly. Focus on the mechanics if you want to argue that it should be changed, there's no point trying to come up with reasoning about how the lore doesn't make sense or that it's overly mean on our parts, Pearl is entirely willing to leave her island with no complaints and would in fact love the Moon Quay were it not for Wagstaff's junk littering the place.
