Please add corruptions of existing mobs. These will be non-optional, harder forms of them, making survival harder.

we already have the frogs, but why are they exclusive to frog rain. They should spawn from ponds sometimes.

I was hoping the rifts would have the same or almost the same effects as corruption in terraria, with terrain and creatures
The world still feels empty with the rifts, the only things that are "changing" the world are rifts that spawn randomly and lunar hail/acid rain.

Compared to the cave rifts, the lunar rifts feel incredibly unfinished with only 3 mobs to fight, 2 of which can be easily avoided, lunar hail that lasts a minute and can be avoided by standing under a tree, and 3 bosses which, while cool, are entirely optional and 2 of them you'll only encounter during half of your in-game year.

I'd expect they'd add more aggressive mob variants, corrupt biomes and basic resources, or just add ANYTHING ELSE that would make the surface more interesting, but instead it's just Brightshades and 3 raid bosses, with a 4th coming on the way.

I really hoped this beta would really make the lunar rifts much more dynamic, turns out, it's just another boss to cross off the checklist. Can't believe they said all this crap would "Make sense" and we'd see the "Bigger picture" when most like me are still confused with the direction they want to take with this arc.

I agree that the weather changes with the rifts are just annoying and are easily solvable but I think that more variants are not needed, the rifts provide good content but the main problem is that we as the players need to seek that new content even if we agreed to the terms of our worlds being permanently locked in the rift phase.

In short we need more rifts or corruption + maybe some corrupted creatures around the whole map/world and not just in that one place where the only rift spawns (or in our bases).

Honestly I think they got so backed up they just canceled a lot of the content or they canceled it after the feedback they got on other rift stuff the implementated because I definitely remember there being something about entries on other lunar mutations of basic mobs I just can't remember where since it's been so long. I believe one of them was about a lunar mutation for grass geckos.

Honestly, I want some sort of Wagstaff invention that would allow us to make protected areas from brightshades. More gestalt bosses, but also inventions to face against those activities, like how you can use special umbrella against Acid rain.

HONESTLY YES, it's supposed to be Alter's wrath being waged upon us but 3 bosses, glass and a seasonal rain isnt at all angry

Also klei what happened to that scrapbook page you get from the wagstaff junk? you shouldve done something with the animals it listed

I think Alter's got sealed away inside of moonglass after CC was defeated, so it isn't doing much in there.

It only REALLY gets mad and starts sending big stuff down when Wagstaff tries to harness its gestalts for something, e.g. the Lunar Siphonator, the little drones, WARBOT.

I was really hoping falling Moonglass would impale mobs and mutate them giving them new looks and unique behaviors.

Why? Because ever since the very first Return Of Them Turn of Tides Update, the lore of the game has been that a huge chunk of the moon (later revealed to be a celestial god or whatever) crash landed into ocean of DST, Terraforming everything around it (aka Shattered Spiders, Moon Glass Lobster, Rock Sharks etc..)

This same “lore” is written into the cave biome the Lunar Grotto, where Klei explains this away by the waters of mutated ocean (caused by moon chunk crashing into the ocean) is now leaking into this specific area of the caves.

Now let’s go back and look at DS Hamlet and how one can argue that Pigmen became more intelligent (and also were cursed), Plants came alive, and Monkeys Mutated into Spider-ape monkeys due to being in the skies on a floating island that was closer to the “Moon” and thus: Felt its effects more often.

Now it’s no secret that full moon nights do a lot of wacky stuff in the game (such as mutate Pigmen into Werepigs)

But now you have Moon Glass Raining out the skies like it’s a Hail Storm.

The reason Klei probably has not gone this direction with the game yet is because it would take a very long time to design new looks and behaviors for all the existing mobs when impacted by “Moon God Chunks” then it would be to just slap a new boss into the game every 4-5 months and call it an update.

I dont like the current "fetch quest" direction of riffs and would prefer this.

Right now it is just wait and do nothing similal for for a small burst of content.

i dont get why everything is even locked to riffs when most main challenges are optional encounters.

When you see a mob, it mutating should be a fear. When the rockjaw in the ocean mutates, you pull out all the stops, and may have to flee.

Shadow riffs seeminglessly fit in to gameplay at the least, i really like them despite my dislike for the riff mechanics (would be cooler if most the gimick mobs occured much earlier), but lunar riffs feels artificial and forced when you play the game.

I really want miasma and acid rain to interact with the environment, insanity filled overgrown mushroom biomes like please? same for the underground swamp, twisted ancient trees, great depth worms roaming, acid rivers with mutated mosquitoes. Like we already seen those forces interacting with environment through the blue mushroom, why can't we have more of that? The damn caves are an empty canvas, there's just enough free space to shove anything in there like WHY do they refuse to do something anything like that and insist on trying to shove bosses in random places

But Let Them Cook (Another ******* scrapyard)

The thing is, looking at this new boss, it's DEFINITELY not easier than re-imagining some common mobs. Okay, yes, it's also a re-imagining of a boss that already existed, but there are so many unique mechanics and things it does, the heat sensors, the lasers, the arena, the walls, and from what we know, it's just one of several phases, so it's not like it's just a random boss that they drafted and decided to make for some reason, they put a lot of effort into it, even though it's not something I value, I can see that.
Now we just have to wait for this second part of the beta to see if these so-called post-victory world events are really the world changes that everyone has been waiting for since they announced the arc. Based on the certainty of the past, no, they won't. But dreaming is free.

Riffs are from guitars. Rifts are cracks or breaches.

These are not the "riff" updates. We are not playing Guitar Hero.

These are the rift updates. Strange forces beyond our comprehension are causing cracks in reality through which they send unspeakable things. It's easy to remember: reality is being ripped apart. Ripped rhymes with rift. It doesn't rhyme with riff, which is an entirely unrelated and separate concept, one related to music, not holes in the fabric of spacetime.
