For starters I couldn't care less about the Pearl Eviction controversy. However, this is an AMAZING opportunity to add multiple small islands within the sea.

For example while sailing you could stumble upon a random biome (not necessarily new) Island such as a deciduous island or a small Spider quarry Island. These islands shouldn't have any important progression/Boss aspects to them (Like Klaus sack spawning on the island etc). Maybe a small bee-hell island could be good?

Sailing is pretty stale in my opinion as it's usually to do Pearl stuff, find lunar and optionally monkey Island and Shark Boi. This would give the player new base options and if resources are low in mainland such as rocks, silk etc. This could help bring a little more life to the ocean with minimal effort as far as development as these islands aren't adding anything necessarily "new".

i dont think adding islands that have resources you find on the main island has a point to it.

Why sail there when you have the stuff on the main island?

Plus it would defeat the point of the ocean needing resource prep, because you could sail to said islands.

The ocean needs islands or general additions with new content that benefits the main island instead of benefiting the ocean further (I.E crab king giving a blueprint for a sea trident and the boat bumpers, or malbatross giving two items that focuses on sailing for some reason.)

the surprising seeds from treasure are a step in the right direction, however them not belonging to an ocean biome is a bit odd.

One tiny island with a couple nightberry trees on it, plus another tiny island with a couple gem trees on it would be fun. It would reward ocean exploration with some early surprising seed trees.

I also always liked the idea of an always winter island with a mactusk camp that worked all year round.

Maybe a summer desert island with some cactus that always had cactus flowers.

The mactusk one is not a bad idea, you dont really get an explanation on where they come from and where they go, we need more mactusk lore

Maybe some useless biomes can be deleted and replaced with on sea islands, like the extra birchnut forest that serves no use?

I would prefer if it would gain usege with unique setpeaces tha ALWAYS spawn at this biomes. But small Islands are cool.

I thought that they could use the random biomes that they can spawn as the random Islands just so that way you can have potentially extra chances for Mac tusk

I mean- McTusk deserved island from bery begining

The sad part is, for this post to have 38+ likes, Klei should have actually listened to me before they went on this whole weird late game boss fight trend we are in right now.

I actually made some pretty valid points when I originally purposed that they do this, over the years Klei has added a ton of content into DST that could be recycled and reused to generate new islands to explore, such as for example:

An island with moon quay turf, a single Palmcone tree, a Shellbell, Anenemy, a Failed Survivor skeleton, and a RockJaw Shark circling around it.

The hilarious part about all of that is: other than the Shark you can create these islands yourself by going and getting X/Y/Z and decorating the islands up.

Over time a mega baser can build impressive new biomes using the resources the game already has available to them and all without ever using mods.

My question to Klei remains to be this: Why if over long periods of time we the players can make their game look more interesting and engaging by painstakingly remodeling the biomes, why can’t they just create us some new unique biomes that spawn naturally like that too?

It's just a possibility, changing terrain generation algorithms could sometimes go straight to the Debugging Hell. This might drags modders down too.

pearl should move in with crab king XD
and both of them become npc, he might be selling his iconic boat armor
so i dont have to redo the crab king fight over and over XD

I want Pearl to move to my base since we become friends after her quests.

Sailing needing resource prep is actually the reason i dont like sailing. You can sail around for a few days but you have to come back because you dont have any food, or light sources, or if its winter and you dont have a campfire prebuild and there arent any islands near so you cant place a normal one otherwise your boat would burn so you ram your boat against some rocks but you did it too fast and your boat has a leak now but you can place a campfire but would you look at that you dont have any wood so you use grass and twigs and now you cant make a torch so your only light is around the campfire and since youve been eating kelp this whole time youve gone insane and as i mentioned previously there arent any islands nearby so you have to fight the sanity monsters on your boat but because you dont have experience fighting them you die and the leak from earlier destroys your boat

So yeah i think putting materials on the ocean is probably a good decision

Resources that are rarer and scattered sparsely through the mainland can be concentrated in these islands, which can have more challenge or threats (like Rockjaws circling their perimeter). Things like MacTusk camps, reeds, certain seed types, etc. It's also a place to land during the night, which is more fun than sleeping on a boat for 5 days and 5 nights.
