What your main says about you (Pub 2025 update)

This is a product of my insanity induced pubs from the end of last year. I probably played in 50 EU pubs. Played with complete beginners, and with people of all characters that defeated all bosses in the game before day 60.

I will be delving deep into the psyche of Don't Starve archetypes using the nightmare fuel I collected.

Note: These are all pertaining to pub pickers (not solo, speedrunners or megabasers)

 

Wilson:

Skilled one: You enjoy being special and rare. You are also probably been playing this game since the Dont Starve singleplayer era and think this is a cool game. A huge video game nerd IRL Likes hanging out. Doesn't kill bosses, even tho he could. You like hats for some reason.

Noob one: You are a new player who just likes the vibe and aesthetics of Don't Starve and Wilson, that's why you bought the game. Alternatively, you just clicked play without bothering to choose a char.

 

Willow:

Skilled one: You enjoy POWER and Aesthetics. You pack together seriousness and passion in everything you do. You listen to your heart, and the heart says MORE. Specifically more fire in your life. Bernie is cool too, but you like Willow. Probably a bit too much.

Noob one: You watched somewhere that this character is strong and want to believe you are strong, but you aren't. Or you like to periodically grief servers and mom and dad are arguing again today so might as well start dont starve once more.

 

Wolfgang:

Skilled one: You either have no chill or too much chill, and just enjoy killing all bosses. You like the mundane and boring things just because they are the efficient things. You have no social skills usually. Probably introverted. You live inside your head most of the time and you enjoy it.

Noob one: The youtube algorithm put a wolfgang speedrun video on your plate and you think you feel like you can conquer anything you want, only to be met by the harsh reality.

 

Wendy:

Skilled one: To avoid angering the Wendy crowd and be burned at the stake, I will refrain for commenting on Wendy mains and instead rely on this meme, which is accurate.

Noob one: You don't need to fight, and never will. You avoid hard bosses, just like your problems.

 

WX 78:

Skilled one: You don't care about other people.

Noob one: You don't care about other people, but also suck.

 

Wickerbottom:

Skilled one: You are a team player and usually a very selfless individual that likes to act like the parent figure amongst friends. You are mature, probably a bit to your detriment, but you are always happy to help and be useful. You don't like being useless.

Noob one: You played Don't Starve a while back and didn't get the memo that characters are not as they were back in the days.

 

Woodie:

Skilled one: You like to not be constrained, you love freedom, and doing everything. Probably have ADHD. You hate staying in one place.

Noob one: You don't like not having things, and two of those things are wood and friends. You picked woodie to get wood, alongside a slim chance to buy some friends with it.

 

Wes:

Skilled one: Depressed and/or with a huge ego. Yiy kuje to mess around and you fantasize being much better than others. You probably are, but no one will tell you that. You are usually hated by others, and sometimes you revel in it.

Noob one: You are an undecided person that doesn't like to make tough choices. You also randomed Wes.

 

Maxwell:

Skilled one: Lazy as can be. Likes doing the least amount of work, while still getting the problem solved. Superiority complex always.

Noob one: You are genuinely trying to be useful and get good at the game. You also just died.

 

Wigfrid:

Skilled one: Can't be assed in using anything other than the best. You think this character looks cool and is strong, so you will always use it. Usually messes around, and treats the pub as a chatroom. Can destroy any content in the game, but only if someone specifically asks. Nicely.

Noob one: Can't kite. Never will.

 

Warly:

Skilled one: You like building cozy bases. You are designated base bitch and like survival games in general. Quite social and chatty. Likes to raise people's IRL sanity. Failing usually and being cringe. At least the base is nice and we have food.

Noob one: has left the server (realizing he can't eat berries)

 

Webber:

Skilled one: A paragon of chaos. Likes to mess with everything and everyone. Has no regard for authority and order. His room probably resembles Asmongold's room.

Noob one: Has trouble killing spiders so he picked Webber. Almost always dies to a spider.

 

Winona:

Skilled one: Has multiple megabases in Factorio. Likes automating everything. Values efficiency over human lives. Is a mad genius in real life. Was bullied in school. Will never have a girlfriend.

Noob one: Aspiring intern in a tech job thinking flashy RGB keyboards and colorful IDEs make you smart.

 

Wortox:

Skilled one: You like hanging out and not being an inconvenience on others. You like to give, and are ok with not receiving. This is affecting your life, but you wouldn't have it any other way. Either the nicest person alive or a complete psychopath. No inbetween.

Noob one: You like quirky things. Probably a furry. You don't know how to fight shadow creatures. NEVER.

 

Wormwood:

Skilled one: You care about this game and about wormwood. A LOT. You also obsess over the "current thing" a lot. That current thing changes, but also comes back. Your life revolves around that THING.

Noob one: The game is called "Don't Starve", so you want to do exactly that

 

Wurt:

Skilled one: You are not very good with crowds and are a bit antisocial, and prefer to do your own thing in general, and need space. Life has treated you roughly, and you just wanna chill.

Noob one: You like feeling like having friends.

 

Walter:

Skilled one: You like being in the center of attention and interacting with others. Likes lifting people up. You're probably annyoing but people got used to it. You smile a lot, not always genuinely. At least you're fun to hang around with.

Noob one: You are a dog person and/or you don't like fighting.

 

Wanda:

Skilled one: You don't have much time for wasting time. Your life's too short. Has anxiety, OCD, or both.

Noob one: You fantasize how it is to be a good player at this game. You never get your Alarming Clock in your pubs.

i dont feel like too much about giving and not gettin anything...oh no, i will heal you sure....but i will limit the soul useages for if i myself need it more, yes i will let you die on dragonfly if i have low amounts of souls and i dont need to heal myself, pigking or oasis base? hmmm.....maybe i show up from time to time but....i might have started to build elsewere

The Wanda one is so accurate. If you see me in the US east pubs we WILL be activating cave rifts at the very least and in a timely manner. Alarming Clock will be obtained by day 4 like clockwork (pun intended).
