KitGlom Posted December 31, 2024 Share Posted December 31, 2024 Basically I beat all the bosses (except Malbatross) and have the cave rift and top world rift for my world, but the problem is they are too annoying. The ichor jars monster are blocking in cave and ugly to see, the rift on top killed my farm with my pet koalefant there and now it's so annoying. Is there a way to turn them off because I turned them off in world setting but its still there? I'm searching online but I can't find anyone telling how to stop or prevent it. IIRC the rift will continue to stay around if it's still up in the world when you changed the setting, but after the rift closes it should properly disable them and prevent them from coming back. I also just disabled everything after I got some materials. KLEI LET US COMPLETELY DISABLE RIFTS IF WE GO THROUGH THE TROUBLE TO LEAVE THE GAME AND DISABLE THEM IN THE SETTINGS. I WANT THEM GONE BEFORE THEY DESTROY UNRECOVERABLE THINGS IN MY WORLD!!!! Almost everything in the game (unless someone came in and reskinned something for you with a skin you do not personally own) are Recoverable. But a rift has to finish out its cycle before they stop spawning, rift contents are vital to late game play so while rifts are on (or there’s an active rift) the game has to make sure the farmable resources spawn from that. You can trick rifts into not spawning inside your bases, there’s detailed guides online on how to do so (I’ve seen people place down enough signs that the game only had ONE location it could spawn a rift that the player did not have registered as a “do not spawn here” zone. Can you maybe provide more details on what specific features of the rift that you want to despawn? Because if it’s something like Deadly Brightshades or Armored Bearger… yeah that type of stuff does NOT Despawn when you turn off rifts, you have to kill all the existing ones in your game world out before they go away. Turning off rifts only prevents NEW Ones from spawning, but once the rift closes.. new ones can’t open up. You can’t have gold boulders, or the desert boulders (the “square” shaped ones) nor spiky trees, beehives or hound mounds, but I’m not sure if the last two are destroyed by the portal, I know the first 3 are because I already lost a huge amount of them until I got fed up and turned it off. Once they are gone they are gone forever. Placing structures to block an annoying mechanic sure works but looks ugly as hell and time consuming so I'd rather not. I want the portal to despawn, poof, gone as soon as I see they appear on the map if I change the settings for them to be gone. I don’t care about the brightshades or enemies as I can easily kill them, I just don’t want the evergrowing glass turf to destroy LITERALLY everything they come in contact with.
