DST needs performance improvements asap?

Recommended Posts

I think we all know the performance of this game is not great. Especially with spiders and bees for some reason. Of course if you're on a really good host system u are fine but people with regular pcs that host, a server starts spazzing out with alot of spiders. Also the lag is bad with alot of items on the ground like when you're farming wood. It really puts a hamper on the gameplay especially lategame.

As the devs continue adding more and more things, I don't think the performance will improve, probably get worse as time goes on if klei doesn't address the performance issues. I am not familiar with game dev at all so i'm not sure what would be the best thing to improve game performance. Maybe a new game engine?

I know everyone is fussing about the updates nowadays but a performance update would truly be something noone complains about. We all would love it.

this is some real magic wand talk.

I'm sure klei is well aware of the ds engine's limits by now, but I don't recall them ever changing anything about its core (except maybe 64 bit). There's probably a reason for it.

around the time they added the archives(give or take) they actually changed caves substantially through restructuring. that was about when i stopped modding dst because i didnt have the energy to relearn how to edit the bits i wanted edited

I just want to know when the Stone Shrimp BUG and the Copy Cow BUG will be fixed, They have been around for a long time, especially the Stone Shrimp. Many people thought they were fixed, I can’t believe it.

Sorry but what are these bugs? I've never heard of them before

The masked stone shrimp in the underground will create a new group. The cowbell will be picked up by the Weirobot and then packed and dismantled to copy another cow. By the way, there are too many bugs this year. This is just a small part.
