I don't understand that Wendy's skill tree had just started to show some improvement after this update, but immediately those who thought the previous skill tree was okay before are shouting for it to be nerfed again. Are they really Wendy players?

Everyone knows that Don't Starve Together is not a PVP game. So why do some people always demand to nerf certain characters in the name of "balance"? Who do you think is unbalanced? Against the monsters? Are you speaking for the monsters? Moreover, in my opinion, Wendy just got the ability to not recall Abigail when fighting bosses. However, Wolfgang can defeat everything just by wearing marble armor. Why is there no demand to nerf him? This is even more unbalanced for the monsters. This is just a PVE game. If someone pursues "balance", it is recommended to play as Wilson. Other characters are too unbalanced.

Saying that people should go play Wilson if they don't like the way you want a character to be is pretty unfriendly.  Why shouldn't you be the one that has to go play a different character?

People are not "speaking for the monsters", as funny of a sentence as that is.  They enjoy when there is a challenge to the game, and that is what makes them feel accomplished and happy when they defeat the challenge.  When it is too easy to defeat the monsters the game stops being fun.

People also enjoy specific characters probably just like you do.  Saying that they should just go play a different character is not a solution.  You wouldn't like it either if someone told you to just stop playing your favorite character.

This probably belongs in the beta discussion board.

That said: people who were upset when Wendy's skill tree was too weak are happy now, and people who wanted it to be weak are upset now that it isn't. That's why people are complaining either way: it's different people complaining about different things.

Whether or not they're actually playing Wendy, I'm not sure, but I have noticed that most of the people complaining about the new Blessed Sisturn III skill are very experienced players who don't seem to take into account how things are for players less experienced than themselves.

It's a multiplayer coop game built around teams of 6 players

If it's not balanced you'll have everyone playing the same small handful of characters, which kinds defeats the purpose of having unique characters filling unique roles

No. That’s not how it works.. and before the great Tencent Acquisition, Klei had high standards, they had characters with Odds of Survival Status’s which Officially put them into a Tier List of just how powerful they’re intended to be.

How about we just scrap the whole Odds of Survival label altogether if Every character is now becoming just as powerful as, or more powerful than Wolfgang?

First they argued that we were too good at Wendy so our opinions shouldn't matter.

Now they're saying we don't even play Wendy so our opinions shouldn't matter.

I guess the strat is to throw whatever you can at the wall and see what sticks.

Can we just break everyone's knee caps and be over this already ????!!!

What are the worthy challenges designed in DST that you use in your argument? Personally, the enjoyment of this game are checking new updates, just chilling doing whatever, solving combat puzzles, learning shenanigans, doing self-imposed challenges, and playing together with friends or making friends from public servers.

That's not what the odds of survival are, it's supposed to be how difficult a character is to play for a new player, not how powerful they're designed to be. Characters with huge upsides are still sorted as "grim" because their downsides (which are easy for an experienced player to overcome) would be difficult for a new player to handle, like Wickerbottom.

For me personally I usually play this game a lot until it becomes easy and the challenges disappear, then stop playing for over half a year because it is no longer interesting when things aren't challenging.  Then when an update comes out that is interesting like this one that focuses on characters I enjoy I play again, and have forgotten a lot and many of the challenges are, once again, challenging (it is surprising how much some time away raises the difficulty for some stuff like fuelweaver and adds that spice and sense of accomplishment back into a playthrough).  Definitely wouldn't take my example as representative of how others that share my opinions on balance play, just sharing since you asked, and since it evidences how the characters becoming too strong would lessen my time of enjoyment of the game.

When a character is too good, it makes other choices less compelling. Wolfgang is banned from speedruns. Wendy may end up the same at this rate.

She previously beat out other characters in a run that required high effort, before skill tree. If you take away the skill requirement for the high performance, then everybody just chooses Wendy. Restrictions are then put in place for competitions to remain interesting, which ends up being you can't use this character anymore.

For solo play, this just amounts to possible loss of engagement and creativity. You wander around while pre-nerf gestalt Abi demolishes dfly for you.

Apologies to Guille6785 for using speedrunning in an argument.

No demand to nerf him? There absolutely has been. I think people have just given up by now. (See: Wolfgang is banned.)

Thanks for sharing your thought! It's true fuelweaver can be tough fight even for returning experienced players because the fight itself is properly designed to be tricky. I mean your statement about relation between challenge and feeling of accomplishment is all true but I just think the biggest enjoyment from this game in general for all players is figuring any possibilities and once it's figured then it's almost impossible to get enjoyment out of this game. For example: treeguard or [insert any giants] is intimidating for beginners but once you know its pattern, there you've solved it and it's hard to get enjoyment out of killing the giant unless you try different methods which can be either easy or difficult to pull off. Simply said it's about process of discovery, once you know it - it's hard to keep the game more interesting for you. Well maybe the execution is different, but the muscle memory always keeps up quickly especially in relatively stable pattern of PvE game like DST. This Blessed Sisturn III controversy is basically a trade between peacefully farming hundreds of mourning glories with actual controlling Abi to keep her alive so low stakes against high stakes method but why should we care? It's just PvE game for you to discover like people who use the combo of player tag and spamming spectral cure-all haven't figured the high stakes method of Wendy & Abi which is faster to pull off because less preparation so your reward of discovering high stakes method is efficiency. Does the existence of Abi player tag really take your enjoyment out of this game like you can't just ignore it to try other methods since you already know both of the process and the result?

They're way more of a Wendy player than you are, brigader who made his account just to spam this same thing that 10,000 other brigaders have already done.

The trolling and baiting is so obvious but the sad part is that it is finally overflooding and taking over the forums.
