Weapon enhancement, upgrade, gem sockets, and more?

Since DST post rift weapon are repairable now, would them be beneficial from a weapon/armor upgrade/enhance system?

Enhancement (Using old boss's loots as materials for Enhance):
-Increase durability.
-Increase tool efficiency.
-Increase attack range.
-Bounded (cant be stolen, knock off by bearger/moose, and come along with you when you revive)
....

Upgrade:
Using respected rift materials to upgrade existing weapon - brightshade/void upgrade kits. It might increase damage, or it convert part of its damage to planar damage (total damage to nomal mob unchanged, but instead 50% planar, 50% normal, it now deal 100% planar damage.)

Gems socket:
Red gems - attack cause bleed.
Blue gems - attack wont remove ice cage, and each attack count as 1/5 of ice staff cast.
Yellow gems - attack restore sanity.
Green gems - restore durability over time.
...

What do you think can be more interesting? I would like weapon system to be more personalized, with each one can have weapon of their choice, instead everyone wear the lastest armor and weapon all the times.

I always wished for some kind of magic system being set up, considering how underused magic items are that aren't from ruins.

Generally having upgrades to staves even if they're expensive would be great to set a path to mastering and upgrading magic stuff.

Either it could be a thing we can explore pre-rift and post rift or postrift only, being a cool alternative to general ranged weapons or melee.

A missed opportunity when there's skilltrees now, imo.

This is the combat rework i mean. If they add skill to weapon's skill like the forge, people would complain everyone have AOE now. And it is post rift, so survival already solved, people already make more food/sanity/heal than they needed.
There are other combat rework like walter ranged, wendy's abi, but those are all character specific combat, it only benefit them.

Got this idea about changing the force attack feature (Ctrl + F in PC default control settings) into slow unmovable wide swing that deals weapon damage in AoE & use that fully enchanted & socketed weapon to show dominance against your foes. ~FEELSGOODMAN~

A "Crit" modifier would be nice on blunt items,

"Bleed" on bladed weapons.

"Rage" on ranged weapons. It's definitely a lot of additions they can make on combat sorta like a Reap what you sow overhaul but for combat and weapons.
