My "other" reason which is why I voted unsure is too probably insignificant and ridiculously personal which is why I won't explain it sorry. So I wroted unsure but in comparison to non-klei-forums internet spaces this is a REALLY friendly community here, so overall my answer is "yes" although I voted unsure (I'm ALWAYS unsure considering fandom communities / spaces)

i voted "yes" to the community being welcoming of me because twitch is fairly plesant and gracious in the circles i tend to run around in. i only really lurk when on discord so i didnt feel it was appropriate to count that as being "active" and....uh, gonna be honest; the klei forums are a very mixed bag and i think it is prudent if i leave it at that. x_x

I voted unsure because when you have strong opinions people tend to treat you very badly...

I got called racist by some people on this forum because i have a different opinion on a character...

Someone even wrote an entire comment just hating on me because i wanted a nerf, ok...

But there are other people who are just chill and discuss like normal people

I feel like this forum is actually pretty good about being civil and open-minded for the most part, but there's some people who write in a very rude manner even outside of heated debates and completely refuse to hear others out, and they make it overall a lot worse to be here. It's fortunate, then, that Klei gave us the option to simply not see posts by those people.

It's... hard to say. Similar to @Horsheen, the community is inherently good, and there's a lot of nice folks, but there are also some really ugly moments from some people that sour the experience a lot. It makes it difficult to decide since I've both had my best and worst moments in this community, so it leaves me pretty split.

I will say one thing that I feel is that a lot of the queer community, especially the mild/shy ones, do not feel welcome here. Given that there's always an argumentative discussion every 2 days on this forum in one way or another, it makes it very hard for a lot of people who are not into that at all to discuss post without getting a quote reply and being nervous to ever reply to the forums in general. It's a huge shame to me, because I have talked to a lot of those people and they are some of the most polite people I've ever met and discussed with, and it's a shame they don't inherently feel comfortable to post here often.

I don't know. Do people hate me? Do they like me? Do they not care? Idk. I like most people here. Pretty good, but I'm also hyper anxious so yknow, that's fun.

You fall into the ballpark of "people who I have spoken to on this forum and would not hesitate to speak to outside of it" for me. We have differing opinions, but considering Everyone Ever has those I don't find that personally bad, and I think it's good to have friendly splits in a community like this. It's good to not have a 100% unanimous feeling on something and to have explanations on why you may or may not like something.

Like, an easy example I can think of is the Portal please don't turn this into another discussion about it I am just bringing this up as an easy example. I know you do not like the portal at all, while I personally really like the portal. You explain how you feel in a way I think is fair and I don't really have any inherent merits to be unhappy as to how you feel this way as they are fair reasons. I view it differently as I have gotten a good chunk of my enjoyment out of it in ways the portal allows, and I think that's alright.

I didn't interact with a majority of the in-game community for a long time out of fear that I would be discriminated against for being nonbinary. Most of the time while playing the game it's easy enough for it to just not get brought up at all, but I finally bit the bullet and added someone I played with on steam and was very surprised to find out that that person was also transgender. Since then I've been a lot more brazen about my identity and putting myself out there, and have made a boatload of friends through the game that range from people that respect me, to people that are just like me. In community everyone is overwhelmingly accepting. Klei themselves making WX-78 a nonbinary character because of community feedback is fantastic, not only does it make me feel like the developers themselves care about their community, but that it also does a good job of filtering out people that I'd want to avoid.

There's always bad apples in the bunch, getting called a slur here, a microaggression there, but they are the outliers. I will always feel welcome here.

I'm not normally someone who tend to share my opnions on public since i have dificulty in expressing myself, and i tend to be bothered by things that others say about me too. It's complicated try say anything knowing that people will probably disagree or even not want discuss at all because only their opnion matters, i've seen so many bad takes or simply ignorant people that it's baffling how nothing happens to those particular individuals.. I used to frequent Smogon forums in competitive pokémon around 3 years ago and to this day i enter there to read some articles and threads about the meta, people discuss and nothing even come close to the disrespect that i've seen here, the audacity of people creating acounts just to trash talk Klei isn't cool as well, not to mention the recent Tencent owns everthing, do what we want, so i don't feel this comunity is particularly welcoming at all. That's just my opnion on the end of day and not all are bad things too, there is some really wholesome posts every once in a while, cool arts, people who play with friends, build megabases and the list could go on..
