CC easily. Imo FW loot on its own is quite underwhelming and lacks uniqueness compared to CC and gets diminished returns with every subsequent fight. You get so much uses out of CC crown even pre-rifts (wear as a main head piece for sanity and light, use for extra dps in fighting, deconstruct for infinite light or infinite generator power source). What use will you get out of your 10th bone armor/bone set and 10th shadow thurible? They can't even be deconstructed for something valuable, it's just a waste of green gems.

Sure, one can argue that FW loot is also all the loot from AG and the ruins. But the more you get it, the less you use it. Dreadstone gear is superior to thulesite gear because it self-repairs. Pair it with two bone armors after killing FW twice and you won't ever need to craft another thule suit or crown, unless maybe if you are Wigfrid and want to fight with CC crown (sanity loss from dreadstone suit won't fit it well, bone armor can be a bit too risky). Staves are useful but I find that you get a lot more yellow gems that you would spend for the staves between ruins resets. The more you light up your base with CC shards, the less starcallers you end up using too. Green gems are the only really useful ones that it's worth resetting the ruins for past 8th-10th time.

Also, besides the horn you can get all the ruins loot from other sources now. Gems literally grow on trees (and also drop from dragonfly). Thulesite can be looted from ocean treasure chests and grown in the archives. Gears you can get from tumbleweeds and ocean treasure. AG horn is the only unique valuable piece of loot FW kill gives you access to, and it doesn't even drop from FW itself. But it's so underwhelming for anything besides hound defense that you don't have much uses out of it past your 8th-10th one. They are bad at getting aggro on things and need to be constantly re-aggroed, they are slow shooting so it takes them forever to kill something, they lack aoe, and sometimes they will straight up ignore hostile enemies near them if they are in their walk/food looking animation and don't attack houndiuses first (bats/hounds/mctusk/charged volt goats). And before someone shows a boss arena with 50-60 houndiuses in it - catapults (now that they can be infinitely powered with CC shards) are a much better and cheaper solution and can be set up way faster.

I'm refighting Celestial Champion for no particular reason... because he's just so much fun to fight.

Since AFW was "Fixed" to destroy lure plants, me and my mates have been getting gems from SproutRock and Dragonfly, and Thulecite and Gear from Green Gem duplicate, have been passionately avoiding a refighting with AFW.

I fight a lot more fw. The fight is top 3 fights in the game, gives a lot of rewards and is satisfying to defeat. Actually gives too much rewards. The only fight in the game which requires a little of skill, as much skill as all of non casual games in the market but lazy people want their reward for nothing

CC is fun but lacks of interesting mechanics and the design is really bad executed...being able to leave the fight when ever you want and continue when you are ready is dumb. No wonder why certain users prefer it over the best fight in the game

OK

Hmm.. well, OK

This part is completely unnecessary. Why must you say like this?

For what it's worth: this poll does not ask which fight is better, it asks which one you fight more. That can and often does just come down to drops, not the quality of the fight itself.

Um... from that perspective, this poll may not be fair from the beginning.

There is a need to refight CC. Shards are needed in large quantities by those who need them, and the only way to obtain them is to refight CC.

As for AFW, there is an option not to refight. Reward from ruins can be obtained in other ways, Reinforced Support Pillar is basically enough if the server host learns it, and bone stuff and Shadow Thurible... I personally don't need many.

I want to fight AFW first but, blegh. Such a difficult fight solo.

Wormie comrade try this: IMG_6154.jpeg.ab2941f625bf564505aa7bcc889df264.jpeg

start by luring fw to the dense patch on the left, then top right and then bottom right after each shield phase. Kite him on the first bramble patch but on the second and third you can just tank.

the scattered traps in the middle take out most of the woven shadows and hands.

to answer the question of the poll: definitely CC.
i never made much use of thulecite now even less with rift equipment. Ill only do fw/ruins after the first out of boredom

I think ironically, as someone who has killed either boss on my world hundreds of times (we are talking 300+ minimum for each in an 18K+ day world), it’s difficult for me to decide which one I have killed more.

I’m pretty confident that at the moment I have killed celestial champion more times as there is no cooldown between kills, but I’m sure weaver will overtake that, given I fight fuelweaver twice a year to keep resetting the ruins, primarily to collect more guardian horns for houndius. 1 horn with a cooldown compared to 6 shards with none does make weaver the option I do consistently compared to mass binging champ kills (I don’t personally prefer one or the other as I think either have unique merits, but I do think it’s interesting).

Consering the fights themselves, quality really doesn’t matter as either really don’t put up a fight with endgame preperations. In my case I have weaver locked down with over 30 houndius to consistently 1-cycle the boss, and I literally spawn champ in a 4 dreadstone pillar cage to trivialize the 1st-2nd phase (3rd phase will ignore the pillars and can move through them, but I prefer to swap to ranged combat for this phase to mitigate this, much less Winona’s catapults being an extremely potent option).

Weaver also has the advantage of being the one that causes the lesser amount of side effects for reaching/killing it. Compared to not losing anything if you don’t place objects directly on the ruins spawners and only requiring items that spawn from bosses you can predict/control, champ at minimum will cause you to complete a moonstorm which can be quite hazardous to walls/mobs around the storm point if you are not careful, alongside forcing every moondial to spawn a moon shard (which is why I also unironically have over half a million moon shards…).

i do not see what's so unfair about simply comparing how much the endroute bosses are fought. the reasons only justify the results.

Perhaps i could have introduced more depth by addinf more options but for the moment the person requesting the poll only wished for the simple comparison and nothing more

That is the worst part about the new progression...ruins are now only useful for green and purple gems, everything else is trash. I dont why new items cant use gems or thulecite instead of just 2 ingredients

They even have the opportunity to give gears an use but decided to add scrap
