In the Scrappy scavengers update that allowed objects to be placed closer together, walls have a unique property where broken-down walls lose all collision in terms of placement, meaning you can place objects directly on top of them.

You can probably use this for cheese/exploitive purposes if you want as you can repair the walls afterward, though I personally have been using it to place structures closer together in builds to fit in a little better. In my current case, I am building a library and using a combo of wood bookshelf walls/bookcases to give the illusion of taking books out of the shelves as best as I can (it will probably look better once I actually stock them, but so far it looks like it is fairly promising).

You can interrupt a Charlie attack as Wortox by opening your map and teleporting anywhere even if you still end up in complete darkness, and Charlie will have to wait a little to attack again. Try to teleport soon after you start hearing her begin to attack. Doing this for a whole night will cost you a lot of souls (one early autumn night took me 8 souls) and will drain your sanity fast, but to me it has been useful whenever I join a public server and can´t find others or craft a torch before it gets dark. Don´t think it´s very useful outside of that though, since if an emergency situation like that happens later in the game you will probably just be able to teleport to a base or some other place that has lights instead. I guess you can also just leave the server and come back.

You can similarly avoid Charlie's attacks with Wanda's backstep watch. You can just backstep When Charlie is about to bite you repeatedly since the backstep watch has such a short cooldown.

The WintersFeast update added snowballs and snowmen, the snowballs can be thrown at mobs to freeze them as a cheap and free ice staff, it takes about 10 snowballs to freeze a mob but they literally spawn all around you when it’s snowing so yeah..

Also if you have two large decorated snowmen near one another they will protect you from the “End Game” Lunar Hail falling on your head.

The scaled furnace cannot destroy the eternal fruitcake

Which was not always the case:
Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Dragonfly Furnace being able to destroy the Eternal Fruitcake. Not even this heat can destroy this present.

But just between us, it can still be destroyed by the furnace if you gift wrap it…
    “destroy this present.” Lol.

Your move Klei. Imjustkiddingpleasedontdoanythingstupid

I'll gladly take this if we can finally inspect bundle contents

There is another way to get rid of eternal fruitcake: feed it to an eye mask or shield of terror

You can also feed it to critter den pets, last I checked.

Since last update loading screens now shows % based progression (At least for consoles this is new, I think I’ve seen this before on PC but I ain't too sure).
It also displays a % when creating a new world! Creating new worlds on console was always a gamble for me when choosing bigger biomes full of things, it was impossible to know if the world would load or not, now that is finally fixed.

You dont need to feed your beefalo 24/7 and the food just needs to be a non meat perichable getting fedding the beffalo 3 or 5 ligthbulbs evertime it bumps you out will help you tame them faster than normal as long as you ride them for the first 25 days (Average beefalo taming time)

You can ignite bearger making him go crazy and move erratically amazing for log farming and or just dwindle his health before doing the killing blow

Willow s sanity increases if you use shadow fueled lanterns soo making a sanity station consisting of one lamb statue and 2 fueled shadow lanterns near your tent increases your sanity rapidly

While Wortox is in beta right now, the nice and naughty inclinations are unlikely to change by the time release comes. With that in mind:

Start your world with nice inclination as Wortox, even if you plan to go naughty later on, without distributing all skill points - Lifted Spirits I-II and Reverberation are basically mandatory for everyone, which is perfectly enough to get said inclination.

Why? Because chances are early game you'll be relying on fisting random butterflies and moleworms for souls, you'll probably find pig houses a lot sooner than bees for soul farming, where naughty skills would shine. Having nice inclination means you can just knock them down and gather the supplies without having to kill any pigs or run circles around them while they try to murder you. It's kinda nice getting your first stacks of boards, cut stone and pig skin without having to do the whole dance of death.

apparently you can put down the Rabbit King Cudgel on the ground and still scare bunnymen that way lmao

Yeah that's intended. It has to be visible (so not in a container, inventory, equipped), or it has to be equipped.

Also, when equipped, it won't scare Bunnymen that are following you, but if it's on the ground, it will.

Also also, if you have the Cudgel equipped and then pick up a meat item, bunnymen won't get mad lmaoo

but if you have meat and then hold the cudgel they go mad
