How much damage can shadow tentacles do?

What is the maximum number of hits a shadow tentacle can land, and how quickly does it attack? Does it do a double swing attack like regular tentacles, or single strikes?

I actually tested this for the thul club yesterday and i saw 2 quick hits of 34 damage each. The animation continues but no additional hits are dealt.

Every shadow tentacle hits twice for 34 so once u spawned a shadow tentacle from Club its a free hit from a dark sword

You mean they stop attacking after the first hits?

yep, they appear, attack twice for total 68 damage if both hit, and then do the tentacle despawn animation, which look like it hit more but it just the despawn animation.

Man, the wiki is seriously misleading about this

AG's shadow tentacles are seemingly very deadly while the player's shadow tentacles are useless as ever
