Are acid puddles still due for final art?

Recommended Posts

This is absolutely such a minor/small change, but its something that keeps coming back to mind.

When they were introduced, it was said that the acid puddles covering the various mushtrees were placeholder, and some other designs were even showed off on stream, but ultimately they went untouched for the duration of the beta and remain the same current day.

They look the same as they did during the beta, and both them and the trees themselves are still low quality, making them sort of stick out.

considering that snow still is placeholdery scribbles that don't always even sit in the right spot a decade in i would say they might just be what it is

I've always thought that's intentional, it matches the snow on the ground!

it is intentional but there are places(like on some rocks) where the snow doesnt actually sit where it should and there are a couple places where it floats a bit or is off-centre and newer items dont look quite as rough as the oldest ones.

That's just the style of the snow, and it happens to look good. The acid "thing" on the other hand doesn't even look like liquid, it looks like a scuffed version of a venom gland from shipwrecked sitting on the cap. Also the fact that there is only one (1) on the entire mushtree just adds to how unnatural it looks; it should 100% be changed, though I'm sure they'll never bother.
