Hai this seems to be a issue on xbox did this ever get solved?

basically lost my world

when i started it it asked me to pick the driver i was using picked it but my worlds all gone 

is this just a xbox dst only issue? cuz im really tired of restarting and it keeps doing it

Yes, it is from what I've gathered and read from others,
I'm 90% sure even some dev commented about investigating this issue at some point when the topic started gaining slight traction.
Whenever this happens just choose the local save, the cloud save is unreliable and if it ever asks you to re-agree to the EULA just exit out of the game and the option for either cloud or local save should pop-up, at least, that's what I recalled last it happened to me way back when.

This happened to me too 

 

But in my case it wouldn't let me even log in unless I deleted my saves (I wouldn't permenantly get stuck on loading screen, but could login guest accounts no problem) 

 

Is there a way to backup/protect saves on Xbox?

Unfortunately, no.

Was there ever any update on this? I can't recall which dev it was who first asked the questions and mentioned they were looking into it.
Maybe Charles? or Jesse was it?, wish I still had the comment on hand, whoever mentioned it.

Also, if you are having issues logging in to DST with your account: It gets stuck on the "Loading..." screen, give your Xbox a restart, and it should fix the issue.

I found the link for the post.

Just saw this happened to another person on Reddit. This is seriously unacceptable! Again, a known issue for years! How many thousand of hours of gameplay got deleted of this bug? @JanH@ImDaMisterL do you guys seriously expect us to care about the game when you ignore a bug this serious? send out a dashboard notification to inform people to link up with the system save over the cloud save at least! Do literally anything to try to prevent this from happening!

I stopped playing the game at that point. I sold my Xbox Series X to get a new PC to play DST there. I had no issues since.

I think they are doing this on purpose. They deleted the using the bug report tool thread for Xbox one, like they weren’t going to fix it…

It's because their console team is pretty awful. It's not malicious, the people in charge of the console ports are just exceptionally bad at their job. They don't even take a bug that deletes all your data seriously. @JoeW do you play video games man? What would losing 1k hours of data make you feel? How have you guys not done everything you can to fix this? The proper channels you guys provide are useless because your console team is either incapable or unwilling to fix severe issues like this. At least put a one time notification to new players so they know what to pick. Any action at all to prevent this needed to happen years ago. How is this still a problem
