Gytre
Some buffs and suggestions for Ocean. Cookie Cutter Cap should deal 25 thorn dmg. Strident Trident should deal 102 ocean dmg and 150 spell dmg. Seedshell should deal 68 dmg and stack 40. Add late game upgrade for Deck Illuminator that makes it infinite and increases light radius. Make Fire Pump fireproof, increase accuracy, increase shooting speed and change recipe to use cut stone. Add better Steering Wheel which is faster. Add 5-10 days cooldown to Pirate Raids. Add Nightberry dish. Add Ancient Speed Boost Tree (works the same as other ancient trees only grows in autumn produces 3 Speedy Fruits which give 20% speed boost for 4 minutes and you can use them to cook new dish in crock pot speedy pie which gives you 30% speed boost for 12 minutes using speedy fruit, pomegranate and royal jelly, Wigfrid can't eat them). If you have any suggestions write below. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/159979-ocean-equipment-buffs-and-suggestions/ Share on other sites

Make that a Sharkboi or Malba blueprint maybe, since the respective alternative craft (glowcap/mushlight) is locked behind Toadstool. SOS-Ouroboros-K
It may be possible to reduce the collision volume of Immaculate Lamb Idol and change it to a constant temperature source of 30 ° C. Captain_Rage
Disagree. Additional options when for boat gear could be nice but only if more threats at sea are introduced. These sort of stat tweaks are pointless in my opinion. Sailing makes for a good experience already. We would sail more if the reward were better. Things like cookie cutter caps being useless outiside of niche situations like crowded servers or because the player made the mistake of ruinning out of armor. Makes no sense to keep this armor without some interesting perk in a game that already had football helmet as cheap armor, dreadstone helmet and eye of terror as infinity durability early game helmets and 3 lategame repairable helmets... deck illuminator is beyond useless Salt needs a buff because you need a lot to refresh food to the point of being easier to simply farm new food And othet stuff like cutless or shellbells not having real uses...is a waste of work Ofc i want more dangers or stuff in general to interact in the sea. Sailing makes for a good experiencie only if you want to farm nuts, fight the 3 bosses it has or hunt for treasures... outside of that is still a big mass filled with nothing and most of the stuff added is not worth Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/159979-ocean-equipment-buffs-and-suggestions/#findComment-1751189 Share on other sites

Sailing makes for a good experiencie only if you want to farm nuts, fight the 3 bosses it has or hunt for treasures... outside of that is still a big mass filled with nothing and most of the stuff added is not worth cookie cutter caps are okay as armor extenders as you split the damage that the armor is taking between two sources, head and body, and only the highest reduction value is accounted for in terms of the dmg you take, you could put on night armor and a couple cookie cutter caps and take more damage then normal as a result. The hats are largely just okay because of the ease to acquire and low cost. If you are out at sea and can't be bothered to dock at land for a second and kill a few spiders and werepigs... well this is your option, I don't think it is meant to be that good it's just a choice. Deck illuminator seems like something that exist due to spacing on a boat being limited as is, and the "hazard" of spittle fish putting out your fires should you have them on a boat. Although I am inclined to agree they are not as helpful as they ought to be, the cost to keep them fueled being double that of a normal campfire really makes it a resource sink if you are trying to use it for light all the time rather then for niche cases, like being in summer and not wanting a fire on the boat or harvesting barnacles at night with spittle fish nearby. Salt is great when you want to keep something that isn't a entire stack of a food fresh, the salt box is the end goal with the salting of food items best used to save important ingredients for a bit longer. Salting a bunch of fish meat or monster meat isn't great what with its abundance at sea, and its even more silly when you can just kill 2 otters for all the ingredients for a meaty stew. Foraging for food at sea is in a pretty good spot not accounting for all the other options the player has, like fridges, salt boxes and tin-fishing bins which only make it better. (it would be interesting if salting a food could cause it to dry age or dehydrate into jerky... that could be a creative application) I'll be honest the cut-less (pretty sure this item is just a joke item) goes into the fire as fuel and the shell bells... well they make for decent armor for the boat, and the more musically creative seem to have a good time with em' similar to how some people really wanted the beard rug, "some people just wanna do art". If you want some better dangers I would love to hear ideas for em', Sharks are lackluster, combat wise and interaction wise and most of the danger feels like it stems from the clutter of the dang boat! I have had more threat put on the ship then me as the player, the sea-weeds are pretty dangerous but its clear that interaction is meant to be a punishment for not interacting with them appropriately. How do you add danger at sea in a meaningful way when a boat can be an expensive project, and when the player can barely move at all on this small space? It's a bit rigged from the start. It provides an equivalent for basic weapons and armor you get early game on land, without needing resources from said place. Sailing is fun in itself and makes for a mostly relaxing experience. At least that is my opinion. I never saw it as a place to go in order to mass farm any resource because like you write that usually doesn't pay off (except for a few items that you only need in small amounts). I would love it there were resources you could haul from the sea in bigger amounts associated with greater danger. Then the sea would retain its charm with a mostly relaxed experience while having some higher risk-versus-reward takes in certain places or seasons (although then we would of course end up with the classic whine on the forums that new items / resources are gated behind something that requires any sort of effort, whaa, whaa). The thing is that, while is good to have resources for basic stuff in the sea, like helmets, most people will bring their own stuff and these sea resources would only be useful in the rare scenario of people running out of their prepared ones and refusing to leave the sea to go back to base. I think there can be a middle ground, stuff can still be useful at see while also being a choice to consider in land Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/159979-ocean-equipment-buffs-and-suggestions/#findComment-1751262 Share on other sites
Steorra
For ocean game play the most important thing I personally think is - to fix those strange bug relative with boat jumping, water walking, ocean mobs behavior when interact with maxwell's magic, etc. Ocean game play is still too unstable comparing with land game play.
