-Variant
This has been a gripe of mine since the Willow got her skill tree, and I'm still holding out for this, but I'm making a small request to optionally let Willow start fires that spread in their default state with the Controlled Burning skill unlocked. Fire spread is one of my favorite mechanics, both for its usefulness and for its occasional funny gimmicks. I'm quite sad that unlocking the Controlled Burning skill removes it entirely, without being able to optionally set ones that do spread. There are skills I heavily use because I love them that are locked behind this, alongside CBs other upside being the lack of burning loot, that make skipping this skill entirely unfavorable! All in all, I'm just hoping there might be a chance to make switching between spreading and nonspreading fires a reality, without needing to mod it in, especially with how hard coded it supposedly is. Horsheen
I'd love this, it can be really tedious to have to light things one by one for things like gathering charcoal etc. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/159699-small-request-optional-willow-flame-spreading/#findComment-1747819 Share on other sites

Mike23Ua
Willows skill the uhh fireball one can still light and spread fires, and I think that was Klei’s intent behind changing it. I actually like this change because it’s a small change that makes playing as Willow feel different from other playable characters. you can even create some lore that Willows body is consuming the fires she tries to ignite so they can’t fully burst outward until she expelled it through fire magic. If you ever need to burn a lot of items as Willow use the Fireball spell. I like that it requires me to go gather Embers instead of just being able to rely on a basic torch to do so. But then again… I also play a ton of RogueLite games and I enjoy characters with quirky playstyles that set them apart from others. And Changing it back, removes this whole aspect of what I enjoy about her being different. Captain_Rage
Maybe as an additional spell, like the one that is already in the spell wheel (Flame Cast)...? Name it 'Wildfire' and make it set everything ablaze in an instant like in Don't Starve. Either that or tone it down to normal fire propagation. I would also like to start normal or enhanced fires as Willow but such suggestions will surely be met with a collective 'boo'. xd Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/159699-small-request-optional-willow-flame-spreading/#findComment-1747894 Share on other sites

Bleh, doesn't feel good at all in execution. Not only does not everyone have that specific perk if they go for a Bernie path, but that's an entire long-lasting skill you can't stop prematurely that also needs you to go and kill mobs. Lot of effort when I'd rather be able to double ignite a fire!
