Do you think shadow chess deserves like a crab king rework?

Judging by the reaction of the players, they don't want to wait and kill the same boss every 20 days, so I decided to think about how to remove the cheese and at the same time make the players happy?
My suggestion: The ability to create statues of figures out of Dreadstone and pure horror and kill the rift Shadow Pieces with new attacks at any time in the caves. 
I would like to add that this will give ordinary Shadow Pieces the opportunity to walk on water and change their attacks so that the player can decide for himself without crutches which of the three he wants to fight. 

And yes, attacks can be difficult, but unlike current chess, they can be dodged. :wilson_pirate:

what's the point of doing that? how does it existing negatively affect you? that's like asking to remove all characters except wes and wilson because you don't like that they're better in comparison to wilson if you're worried about other people potentially using cheese even though that won't affect you

This cheese is a very waste of time and resources. You don't need armor and swords in such quantities, fuel can be mined in massive quantities thanks to a new mob, and hearts simply remove the opportunity to choose a new one from 3 items, simply because you don't need to think about it.

 

I don't want shadow pieces rework, I want to be able to cheese them and not care about your personal issues with other players cheesing the fight.

If it was such a waste of time and resources you wouldn't be so adamant about having it removed from the game, so it seems like you literally make no sense.

EDIT: In addition what you need to understand is that this is a sandbox game so everyone should be able to play in a way they please without every single thing that you don't like or have to interact with being patched.

Weapons and armor in such absurdly large quantities after fractures are simply meaningless. The only thing that does is the atria, which... There are too many, which limits the players in choosing one of the 3 items

there's already hardly an opportunity for that, you need to kill FW twice to become able to get a heart that'd work for making 1 of those so you'll need to wait for day 41 either way assuming that you did FW on day 21 (realistically 22 or 23 so 42 or 43) so you could get 4 hearts from killing 2 t3 shadow rooks twice without cheese so you'd use 2 for FWs and 2 for 2 of those items, beefalo can hardly die with a rifts saddle so you'd probably just get it and the new rifts axe

They are the most boring boss..which is something if you consider they are 3x1 bosses.

The fight is really bad, is just a gear/perk check making the player bring the item or strategy that makes you kill them hitless or tank during the entire fight. Not for something the most used way to kill them in early is to simply kite the rook t3...easier than killing spiders if you have enough speed, no skill involved 

They arent even finished, they have a placeholder loot and they dont drop any sketch. There isnt even a reason to fight all the forms other than the most convenient one

I guess people only like their design because is an unskilled fight or/and because can be exploited to get infinity ammount of armor, weapons, NF and shadow hearts

you already get to choose 2 out of 3 if you do 2 t3 shadow rooks twice because of needing to wait for FW summon cd because of needing to kill it twice for a mimic chest to potentially spawn

Reworking bosses and stuff is a waste of time when there are so many neglected aspects of the game.

 

Also, this was meant to be a cave update that adds new rewards to the caves.

Yes, there are actually not many bad fights in the game. Personally, I would call 3-4

i like them because there're many solutions for how to kill them, sucks that fighting them's boring but still better in comparison to like all bosses that got added since 2020 at least

12 if you exclude things that're supposed to be easy like spider queen, tree guard, new worm boss, deer clops etc.

i hardly do these days, mostly playing forge, but i still play normal mode some times because at least they didn't remove the good bosses that they added 7 years ago

your translator doesn't seem to be working well, there's only 1 strat for all of those except CK unless you count dodging and attacking, spamming minions and using torch instead of fire staff for mutated deer clops as separate strats but even then that's 3 strats for 2 bosses and 2 strats for all other bosses in the list so still disappointing

Nah. Crab King needed reworked because it was generally considered to be a genuinly awful fight. There are some people who say otherwise, and Klei definitly over-corrected when reworking him. But a rework did atleast make sense.

 

The Shadow pieces meanwhile aren't the most complex fight ever. But unlike the Old Crab King, they don't require complete and utter focus at all times, 'nor do they punish you immensely for slipping even once.

 

They are, at worst, underwhelming but inoffensive. Which makes sense given they're only a stepping stone boss to reach the Ancient Fuelweaver. I think the real question is why Klei decided that locking the new items behind you farming them was a good idea.

i guess its because some moon items need a special item you get from killing bosse...3 new ones that is....so not sure why not make like some new bosse on shadow side that give you the special something instead of redoin pices again and again

If the Dark Sword and Night Armor have excess capacity, is it possible to increase their use?   Such as allowing them to be used directly to fill The Night Light, The Lazy Forager, Alarming Clock, Codex Umbra, Terrarium or Generator, or adding formulations?
Also, if I follow the path we started with, I would suggest changing Loot Stash first, removing Steel Wool, Lavae Egg, Desert Stone, Mandrake and Spiderhat, Join the Glass Spike, Bootleg Getaway, Sea Sprout Starter, and Crab King Bumper Kit (maybe Pan Flute and Shadow Atrium are good too, maybe not).
