Wurt shadow merm converter

Recommended Posts

I'm curious if anyone has some good methods for converting merms into shadow merms as Wurt. I made a cooker since shadow merms are immune to fire damage. It worked for the most part, I'm curious if anyone else has other strategies that work for them or if people just let them convert naturally over the course of fighting.

Use mudslinger (the best weapon in the game), and bramble husk(2 of them), bunch of wall or one boat, and one dummy target.

Didn't they change bramble traps not to hurt other players or followers back a while ago?

Did they? Aww man, I thought it was only tooth traps.

Can get around that by walling merms in a bramble trap zone then dropping a few spiders to trigger traps.

Personally I just kinda throw my merms at increasingly stupid fights they should not win(I don't know why but they keep winning). Early game if I want an eternal merm follower it's pretty easy to trick them into following you into a lava pond so they fry to a crisp, best to help them with walls and such so it takes less time. aside from those two it's pretty difficult to kill them all reliably without them turning on each other or you.

I haven't used the shadow route in awhile so this may have been fixed but if you right click the area near them with mosquito bombs it'll damage them without it being counted as you attacking them so you can kill them and turn them into shadows this way.

One fake attack to Bramble Husk, they will try to hit twice and at the third they will die. Then you just walk away.

This works way better than I thought it would as long as you don't have too many merms. It is also pretty quick compared to a merms cooker.
