I can see what "navigation" looks like now ...  You need to use the site a very specific way in order for it to work... Very frustrating...

I worked on support for small screen resolutions / mobile phone screeens in the past hours and just pushed an update.

Please try it without "desktop mode" on your phone and share some screenshots how it's displayed - and if you see problems somewhere.

There seems to be an problem with the embedding into MapsNotIncluded.org we might need to investigate.
This indeed breaks navigation.

Can you check if that works better?

Does only Desktop mode break the embedding or does the regular view do this, too?

I usually don't like to meddle in arguments but what i just read kinda annoy me. 

Tools not included was probably the best tools for ONI for players like myself, who loves to build a perfect base and it was really bad when the tool stopped working. It started to get bad as time went by, being slow, crashing during a search and then just not working at all.

When the owner was asked to fix the issue, the reply was that she was too busy in real, which is totally fine and understandable, is a free service, done with this person free time. There were also some rude answers from her to those who asked if the service would come back one day. Which I understand if they are towards those who doesn't appreciate free work, but some just asked to provide the DB or other info so they could help her rebuild it, but she just found an excuse to turn the requests down in a bad way too. This is all in reddit posts btw.

Now, many months later, Commander Steps create a better version of that tool and you whine because it doesn't support a browser that neither Microsoft or Mozilla support?

I found the tool when it had 50k ish maps and it worked fine. I used it again on 170k ish map and it worked fine. I used it some days ago when it was stuck at 207450 maps and it still worked fine. No slow downs, no errors, nothing. I admit i couldn't find without help the ADD AND rule but I got help here asking. Imagine the ego you must have to deny your own mistake and claiming is the service fault?

Even after your senseless complains and bashing and attacks, Command Steps worked on the mobile version to accomodate people who have outdated browser. If i were you I would at least say thanks, cause once again, remember this is a free service.

That’s still the case. LeCoffe, who is the main map contributor, had a hardware failure and did not yet setup up a new machine.

But that’s fine. 200k maps should be enough to provide results for any search.

How she is not answering anymore and providing real feedback after I put in work tells me yet again how her posts were made in pure bad faith.

That Vertel guy wrote a post that was really awful. He called me a „bad developer“ because I choose a technology that requires an up-to-date browser. He made several statements about what an bad & incompetent person I am. That’s the same hate I experienced on Cairath‘s Discord - that’s really not a place to be. His post was so insulting and against community standards that it got removed by the mods by now. It’s sad if you do something good for the community and get to deal with disgusting people like that. So it’s great to hear from people who like what I did and are thankful.

Three people even donated $5 to me on GitHub.

Your browser’s going to be end of support in March (extended from this past October), you may want to make a plan for that. And I’d also anticipate more things not working as more sites adopt modern standards. People had this same problem with Windows 98SE, XP, and 7 going EOL. Eventually the Internet starts to want to use modern standards that your dated software doesn’t support. Seems to be a smaller problem this time though with over 99.7% of the steam hardware survey windows users being on 10 or 11.

People like you are such a detriment to the ONI community. Someone works on their own time for FREE so that others can find greater enjoyment, and you behave like this in response. You are definitely in the wrong here and need a major attitude check. I surely hope you don’t behave like this in real-world interactions… that would be very sad indeed.

 

@Commander Steps thank you very much for the work you’ve put into MNI. ONI players are lucky to have you. It’s a testament to your character that you actually made improvements based on the “feedback”. I probably would have responded less constructively lol

Safari is not included is now changed with a general error message regarding outdated browser. He even thanked you for pointing it out and he quickly changed it after. Even thou i doubt many people will ever see that message, I believe you ignore how rare is to use an outdated OS and Browser on 2025. The answers you got were indeed correct, I mean Microsoft itself stated that all the OS except 11 and above will cease to receive support eventualy, they want all their users to use the same OS and not 20 different versions.

The service worked before your post, worked after your post and works even today. There was no service failure, your browser just didn't meet up the requirments to use which is not the DEV fault but your own problem. I mean if Epic Store gives ONI for free you wouldn't see a single soul complaining that this free gift cannot be used on their Pentium II with Windows 95. And you wouldn't see a single sould asking the DEVs why they didn't create ONI to run for such outdated OS and PCs, which is exactly what you did here. The tool works fine and it doesn't need to run on outdated softwares, it is you who must upgrade your specs.

No you shouldn't be sorry for asking about it. You should be ashamed to not appreciate the work done, before and after your problem. People not only used their time to provide you with different solutions, but the tools now work with mobile as well, even if in my opinion is not as confy as using from a pc, but still is usable. Rather than thanking you didn't even bother to check it, so I suppose it is indeed true that you came here with bias and beef on hand.

I am sorry but I won't thank someone who assumes I checked the site because of other reasons than actually checking and trying to navigate it. I checked. It "works". I am not happy with it since it's not working well but I won't bother with it any more because it doesn't seem to be very productive on my part.

If my own frustration and waste of time made the site better for the community by forcing the developer to actually make it at least available on phone (no, desktop mode didn't work properly on phone before) then that's good I guess.
