if you roll back, then immediately roll back again, it goes back 2 days. Just for the record. Best of luck.

I haven't ever seen this work on Klei's public servers. I've only seen it roll back 1 day total ever.

it probably doesn't work due to rejoin lag, there's a brief window where you can start a rollback that would send you back again, however since players take a while to rejoin, it doesn't let them.
-ooor klei has set only a single day back-up on their servers.

Only noobs use roll back options. If there are 6 people, and it in middle of the day, you are wasting 24 mins total of everyone playing time, plus about 2 mins of waiting for the world to roll back, that 36 mins wasted.

If there are 11 people, with the 1 griefer being excluded, and the deed is being done at night, let say 7 mins into the game, plus 2 mins roll back, that 99 mins wasted of everyone time.

Learn how to deal with the aftermath. Rebuild a burnt chest area wont take that much time. Digging burnt grass and twigs wont be that hard.

Most roll back i see in public wasnt done because there was a griefer, but because own player fault. Boat destroyed because bad sailing - roll back. Some chest burnt because forgot to refuel flingo - roll back. Kichen destroyed because forgot to run out when bearger/dc come - roll back. Beefalo die because people use them to fight new bosses - roll back...

Guess what? kitchen is easy to rebuild with new placement update.
Chest can be rebuild with two extra boards.

Try to deal with those problem without roll back. Only use them on unrepairable problems, not use them as escape way for your own mistake.

yea i dont know i that is trustworthy enought or makin alot of sense at all, in your words i sould let the trolls allow to do there thing because "you can just rebuild" like i doupt you will win anyone besides said griefer to your side

Im not saying let griefers do those, im saying stop using roll back to every single failure happened in your game. Roll back waste everyone time, rebuild also waste some of your time, and especially if it your own fault that your own things got destroyed, learn how to fix it by your own, and maybe you can always ask your friend for help.

Stop bending my words.

The poster has a point. I happened to me many times that noob hosts and bad players decided to undo an in-game day's worth of fighting, building and general progress simply because they saw a flower smolder or a backpack burn or some nonsense. >_> Having an option to roll back 2 in-game days suffers from the same problem like every other anti-abuse system; they turn into tools of abuse themselves (like people hijacking servers and rolling back for no reason, or vote kicking on public servers which is intended to expel malicious actors but can end up expelling harmless and innocent players).

so instead of only wasting time i sould alsol waste time AND resources to rebuild everything the griever took from the others?

What you do and choose to waste time on is up to you but wasting time on your game progression is still unavoidable if you play with griefers and have to roll back. The only solution is to steer clear from griefers to begin with. A serious griefer will use the roll back system to waste your time so that is no good solution. All these anti griefing methods are crude at best. They can still be circumvented or used for malicious purposes, so it makes no sense to try to fine-tune them.

Playing with friends and having an intuition when meeting strangers online and being able to read them are the best and only sane guards against griefing from my experience. xd

Tragically this response is not conductive to the post :love_heart:
