So, someone from one of discord servers I'm in made a mod for shield of terror blocking and it looks awesome

Honestly, if it could become an upgrade for Wigfrid as alternative and adding that shield block to be used by others as a risky damage block for that it's durability is smaller in other's hands I think this shield could become much more awesome again. I feel like with the new weapons and everything else it kinda falls off a lot as a boss loot that you gotta fight one of harder bosses to get. It's kinda very similar to the helmet but does tenticle spike damage and blocks some damage. I just like the idea of people having an actual parry weapon to want to farm for or compete to get one cause it looks cool it is a bit broken and I would love that for it.

It wouldn't demean Wigfrid as she would just get more bonuses from it and she already just has to craft multiple battle ronds which just won't matter besides save up resources greatly.

A block attack from projectiles like bishops already feels like a satisfying ability to have.

Honestly, I'd rather see it get a charge ability like it has in Terraria. Something you can use on a cooldown that lets you sort of dash into enemies, bouncing off and dealing damage if you hit.

I do like the parry ability, the idea behind it is to have it stand out with the Elding Spear because it gets outclassed once the spear gets the ability to self-repair, having an ability similar as the spear kinda breaks the point.
Also I cannot bring myself to have a harder to obtain shield not being able to block attacks xd

Besides the weapon is being easy to repair I aimed the mod to be fun, so I also added a self-repair option while parrying so you can feed the Shield of Terror less often while fighting bosses.

The Terrarium still doesn't target the closest player so I highly doubt there will be changes to the shield as well.

See? These are the cool things we could have in the game instead of complaining about the cool things we can get. After all, everyone is getting buffed, enemies are getting more threatening in varied ways. Everyone wins in having a game being more fun.

Well Shield of Cthulhu does block contact damage and gives a short time immunity frames and damage to the attacker after contact, but the most common use was to build momentum, that helps you to keep the distance from the bosses especially the hardmode ones.

But in DST there is no such things as acceleration speed, you could use to avoid attacks but negating the damage just plays differently, countering CC's most deadliest attacks feels very rewarding.

I honestly do want to see more lategame weapons like these than just higher damage weapons or cheaper blow darts.
